  • Publication number: 20140361484
Abstract: A method of playing a game of chance including providing a game layout surface having a plurality of discrete wagering areas each configured for receiving a wager on the outcome of the game of chance. A card shuffling device is disposed adjacent the game layout surface and configured to rotate about a vertical axis. The device includes thirty eight slots configured to receive an individual card from among a defined set of cards. Each of the set of cards includes indicia thereon relevant to the outcome of the game of chance. One of the set of cards has indicia of a black joker and one of the set of cards has indicia of a color joker. After the cards are located in the slots and wagers are placed in one or more of the plurality of wagering areas, the card shuffling device is rotated. A card from among the set of cards is then selected to determine the outcome of the game of chance. The one or more wagers are then resolved based on the outcome according to the payouts of a conventional roulette game.

  • Patent number: 8695981
Abstract: A casino card game (20) including a plurality of cards (23) having values, suits, and colors are disposed in a vertical shuffler (22). The game (20) also includes a betting surface (21) presenting a plurality of wagering areas (26-38) corresponding to the values, suits, and colors of the cards in the vertical shuffler (22). The betting surface (21) further includes a plurality of player positions, each identified with a unique indicia (24). During each round of the game, players place wagers on the wagering areas (26-38) of the betting surface (21) and a dealer spins the vertical shuffler (22) to determine a winning card (23). The dealer then identifies each of the wagering areas (26-38) associated with the value, suit, and color of the winning card, if any, and pays the wagers on those identified wagering areas (26-38) according to a predetermined payout.

  • Patent number: 8505919
Abstract: A rotary card shuffling and selection machine for use in playing a game of chance includes a wheel supported in a generally vertical plane for rotation about a horizontal rotary axis (A). The wheel is provided with a plurality of card slots arranged concentrically about the rotary axis (A). Each card slot holds a card bearing indicia suitable to decide the game of chance. The cards are held in each card slot via friction elements. First and second flappers cooperate with one another to progressively slow the wheel after it is manually spun by an operator. The cards may be placed in opaque folders in the slots to hide the indicia while the wheel is spinning. Alternatively, the indicia may be located on the card so that it is hidden inside the slot when the wheel is spinning.

Abstract: A game of chance card game in which Players play, at least initially, against a Dealer/Bank. In one embodiment, the Dealer/Bank hand must qualify and if not Players may continue in action against one another. The object of the game is for a Player to successfully hold five cards whose total numeric value is higher than that of any of the other Players or Dealer at the end of the round. To reach a game decision, each Player must proceed through four wagering stages. The game can accommodate one to many Players and may be implemented in live table gaming or electronically implemented formats. Numeric card values are comprised of 3X, 5X and 8X, where X is a non-zero number. A Fire card (30, 30?) resets the value of certain numeric cards only. Wild or Joker cards may be used which are not nullified by the Fire card.
