Abstract: To enhance safety of interventional procedures, a method for monitoring an interventional procedure that is carried out using an artificial object, such as a catheter, is provided. At least one image of the interventional procedure is acquired. The at least one image is analyzed automatically with regard to a specified anomalous feature relating to a geometry and/or a time-dependent movement parameter and/or a flow behavior of the artificial object. A complication signal is automatically generated only if the specified anomalous feature is detected in the at least one image.
