  • Patent number: 8107472
Abstract: A gateway may be used as a common entry point for a network. Subscribers may request network services through the gateway. The gateway may identify management entities that are appropriate for a particular subscriber's request by contacting a network information collector (NIC). The NIC may include one or more, possibly distributed, resolver components and information collection agents. The resolvers are responsible for the resolution process, which may be based on a resolution process that specifies resolution functions that are required to identify the management entities. The information collection agents may be customizable software agents that collect state information from other elements in the network.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 6, 2008
Date of Patent: January 31, 2012
    Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.
Inventors: Wladimir de Lara Araujo Filho, Sherine El-Medani, Martin Bokaemper
  • Patent number: 7765096
Abstract: A network testing environment includes a control server and a testing cluster composed of one or more load generating devices. The load generating devices output network communications in a non-deterministic manner to model real-world network users and test a network system. The load generating devices operate in accordance with probabilistic state machines distributed by the control server. The probabilistic state machines model patterns of interaction between users and the network system.

Date of Patent: July 27, 2010
    Assignee: Juniper Networks, Inc.

  • Patent number: 7203190
Abstract: A method for routing data packets in a network analyzes data packets in the network with a selected network node. The path of the data packets to a destination address is manipulated in accordance with certain requirements. Information contained in the data packets as well as further information which is available to the network node is used for a routing. The further information can either be called up from a database of the network node or from a plurality of tables, which may be distributed in the network. A transfer node, such as a switching service, which is suitable for the requirements is determined. An apparatus for routing data packets in a network is also provided.
