  • Patent number: 9625373
Abstract: Apparatus for spectroscopic analysis which includes a tunable diode laser spectrometer having a digital output signal and a digital computer for receiving the digital output signal from the spectrometer, the digital computer programmed to process the digital output signal using a multivariate regression algorithm. In addition, a spectroscopic method of analysis using such apparatus. Finally, a method for controlling an ethylene cracker hydrogenator.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 22, 2006
Date of Patent: April 18, 2017
    Assignee: Dow Global Technology LLC
Inventors: James D. Tate, Christopher J. Reed, Christopher H. Domke, Linh Le, Mary Beth Seasholtz, Andy Weber, Charles Lipp
  • Patent number: 7843560
Abstract: The present invention relates to a turbidity calibration standard comprising: a number of from 1 to 5 sequentially-interfaced layers, wherein each layer independently comprises a light-permeable polymer or light-permeable interpolymer; a measured light transmission modulating amount of at least one light transmission modulator, which is distributed in any one or more of the layers; and a light-permeable container, which contains the layers and the at least one light transmission modulator. Also, the invention relates to methods of making and using the standard, and kits comprising the standard.

  • Publication number: 20090031826
Abstract: A high throughput workstation includes: a sample deposition and annealing robot, a pan/sample weighing robot, and a thermal analyzer equipped with autosampler and data analysis system. After deposition, the solvent can be removed and multiple samples annealed simultaneously in a controlled manner. The sample pans are weighed before and after the samples are prepared using a robotic weigher. The high throughput workstation facilitates analysis of thermal properties of samples obtained via parallel plate reaction (PPR) in substantially less time than corresponding manual techniques.
