Abstract: Methods and systems for displaying search engine results where the file links are displayed with corresponding images of things that fall within a given category are disclosed. Object detection software can be used with a search engine to provide search results to a user that contain specific images found within the result pages (i.e. the pages of the websites returned as the results). For a given class of objects, the user can be presented with images that contain that class of object along with the result hyperlinks, allowing the user to make a more informed choice as to which hyperlink is the most appropriate search result, without being inundated with all of image files present in the result pages.

Abstract: Methods to process digital video using trajectory extraction and spatiotemporal decomposition for search and retrieval of video are described. An example method extracts interest point data from data representing a plurality of video frames. The interest point data is extracted from each of the video frames independent of the other video frames. Subsequent to extracting the interest point data, the example method links at least some of the interest point data to generate corresponding trajectory information. The example method also clusters the trajectory information to form clustered trajectory information and extracts a representative feature index from the clustered trajectory information.

An example method to analyze execution of a multi-threaded program on a processor system includes generating a first program trace associated with the execution of a first thread, generating a first list of execution frequencies associated with the first program trace, generating a second program trace associated with the execution of a second thread, generating a second list of execution frequencies associated with the second trace, generating a first set of one or more vectors for the first list of execution frequencies, generating a second set of one or more vectors for the second list of execution frequencies, and analyzing the one or more vectors to identify one or more program phases.

Abstract: Methods for displaying Web search engine results are disclosed. A method for refining search results based on selecting icons indicating which links or keywords are appropriate or not appropriate for the desired results is disclosed. A method for refining search results based on a telephone reverse-lookup of an incoming call is also disclosed. A method for refining search results based on an input document, like a resume or job application, is also disclosed.

Abstract: Personalized named entity recognition may be accomplished by parsing input text to determine a subset of the input text, generating a plurality of queries based at least in part on the subset of the input text, submitting the queries to a plurality of reference resources, processing responses to the queries and generating a vector based on the responses, and performing classification based at least in part on the vector and a set of model parameters to determine a likelihood as to which named entity category the input text belongs.
