  • Patent number: 5020220
Abstract: A film-like closure opener opens a film-like closure such as a cap or lid which closes an open end of a bottomed tubular container such as a blood collecting tube. The film-like closure opener includes a cutter having a circular cutting edge for cutting off at least a substantial portion of the film-like closure along the open end of the tubular container. The opener may have a needle for piercing an elastic member on the film-like closure, so that the cut-off closure can be removed with the needle. • Patent number: 4991601
Abstract: A blood sample tube holder for holding a blood sample tube includes a holder body having a needle joint on one end for connection to a blood sample collecting needle, the holder body having an open opposite end. The holder body has a plurality of elastic and flexible lands on an inner wall surface thereof. The lands have radially innermost surfaces arranged such that when the blood sample tube is inserted into the holder body through the open opposite end, the lands are engaged and elastically deformed by the blood sample tube for an increased area of contact with the blood sample tube for holding the blood sample tube in the holder body.

  • Patent number: 4985026
Abstract: A blood collecting tube comprises a tubular member made of synthetic resin which has an open end and a closed bottom, and a closure member which is for closing the open end of the tubular member and allows a puncture needle to pierce therethrough, the interior of said blood collecting tube being kept under reduced pressure, said tubular member being essentially made of a polyester resin mixture of a polyester resin mainly based on a ethylene glycol and terephthalic acid and a polyester resin mainly based on ethylene glycol and isopthalic acid. The tubular member of this blood collecting tube can be suitably made by injection molding and has high gas barrier properties so that the capability of collecting blood decreases little with time.

  • Patent number: 4936314
Abstract: An evacuated blood collecting device for collecting a blood sample of predetermined volume comprises: a cylindrical member having one open end and one closed end; a puncturable stopper member closing tightly the open end of the cylindrical member so as to seal the space within said cylindrical member; and a gas sealed in the space within the cylindrical member. The cylindrical member and the stopper member are made of materials having a characteristic such that the permeation coefficient of the gas sealed inside the space to at least one of the cylindrical member and stopper member is higher than that of the gas around the outside of the blood collecting device, whereby the interior of the space is retained under reduced pressure relative to the gas around the outside of the blood collecting device in proportion to the blood sampling volume.

  • Patent number: 4787981
Abstract: A process for purification of crude glyceride oil compositions which comprises diluting a crude glyceride oil composition containing gum material and wax as main components of impurities with an organic solvent, bringing the diluted crude glyceride oil composition into contact with a semipermeable membrane composed of polyimide consisting essentially of a repeating unit represented by the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 represents a divalent organic group, under pressure to obtain a semipermeable membrane permeable liquid in which the gum material in the glyceride oil after removal of said organic solvent is 100 ppm or less, carrying out bleaching of the glyceride oil obtained from said semipermeable membrane permeable liquid with at least one kind of an adsorbent selected from the group consisting of clay, activated clay, activated carbon and bone black, and then carrying out deodorizing to obtain a purified glyceride oil.

  • Patent number: 4507415
Abstract: Irradiation-sterilizable medical articles molded from a propylene polymer composition in which stabilizers are incorporated. Said composition comprises from 0.01 to 0.4 part by weight of each of a specific hindered amine and a specific phenol or its phosphite ester compound incorporated per 100 parts by weight of a propylene polymer with a weight-average molecular-weight to number-average molecular-weight ratio of 5 or below. The above-mentioned composition may additionally contain a sorbitol derivative as the nucleating agent. Medical articles produced from said composition by molding, for example, syringes are suitable for irradiation sterilization. Said medical articles when irradiated undergo little reduction in quality of the material and are accompanied by little bleeding or degradation of the incorporated stabilizers and nucleating agent.
