    Abstract: The present invention provides a digital camera in which the start-up time which is from when a power source is turned on until the digital camera is in a state in which photographing is possible is short. A DC motor and a stepping motor are driven simultaneously. A cord plate which is provided in advance at an outer circumferential surface of a rotating cylinder is detected. Then, the stepping motor is driven to move the focus lens by a movement amount corresponding to a detected range of the cord plate. When the setting of various types of components necessary for photographing other than the lens groups has finished, even if the zoom lens groups (forward lens group and backward lens group) are moving to their home positions, the digital camera is in a state in which photographing is possible.

    Abstract: A lens frame is contained in a lower lens barrel and moves in a direction of an optical axis as guided by a guide shaft. An adjusting lever is provided with a lever body having a bearing for supporting the lower end of the guide shaft and an opening into which an adjusting pin is inserted, and a holding portion extended from near the opening of the lever body to outside the lower lens barrel. A length between an edge of the holding portion and a center of the opening is longer than the length between the center of the opening and a center of the bearing. The lever moves around the adjusting pin in a plane orthogonal to the optical axis to adjust the position of the guide shaft.

The order apparatus for printing may include a card reader for reading order information including the number of prints per frame number written on an order card by a user.

    Abstract: At first, the film in a film cartridge is wound up. Next, the film is rewound into the film cartridge, and a perforation indicating a reference position of each frame is detected. Then, predetermined information corresponding to the detected perforation is recorded in the magnetic layer. In another embodiment, when the perforation provided closest to the forward end of the film is detected, the film is rewound a required length. Then the magnetic recording is performed after the rewinding is completed. In another embodiment, two detectors for detecting a perforation is provided. One detector is apart from the other by a multiple of a distance between frames. Every time one detector detects a perforation, magnetic recording/regenerating is carried out.

The fluorescent light is arranged on the side of the base surface of the film such that the illuminating light illuminates the base surface of the film first and then passes through the emulsion surface of the film so that this image light is focused on the CCD line sensor, so that the film image can be reproduced clearly.

    Abstract: A color direct thermal printer has a yellow fixing ultraviolet lamp and a magenta fixing ultraviolet lamp, in order to fix the coloring of color thermosensitive recording material. Behind the yellow and magenta fixing ultraviolet lamps is disposed a reflector, which has portions contacting the yellow and magenta fixing ultraviolet lamps for receiving heat from the yellow and magenta fixing ultraviolet lamps. Outside the reflector, a temperature sensor is mounted which measures tube temperature of the yellow and magenta fixing ultraviolet lamps through the reflector. When the measured temperature is greater than 40.degree. C., the fan is driven and sends air to the yellow and magenta fixing ultraviolet lamps. If the measured temperature is less than 30.degree. C. at the time of operating the starting key, a start of the printing operation is delayed. In the delay, the yellow and magenta fixing ultraviolet lamps are actuated and the tube temperature is raised.

    Abstract: A thermal printer in which a sheet of recording paper is held by and between a thermal print head includes a plurality of heat generating elements and a platen drum, the amounts of heat of the heat generating elements are selectively changed, and an image is printed onto the recording paper. In the thermal printer, a printing position is set just behind a clamp position at which a clamp clamps the leading end of the recording paper onto the platen drum. Therefore, the image printing can be started immediately after the clamp position passes through the thermal head, with the recording paper being in part wound around the platen drum by the thermal printer. As a result, the time taken from paper feeding to printing starting can be reduced.
