Patent number: 7568310Abstract: An opening/closing system for vehicle can improve detection accuracy of rotation of an output member and enhance reliability of its operation. The opening/closing system for vehicle includes a drive unit having an electric motor and a reduction gear unit. A drum, which is an output member, is fixed to the output shaft of the drive unit through a power transmittable member. A magnet fixed to the outer periphery of a disk member is disposed between the drum and the gear case of the reduction gear unit in such a way that the magnet rotates along with the drum when the disk member is fixed to the power transmittable member. A housing case fixed to the gear case is provided with a sensor accommodating section that accommodates a magnetic sensor. The magnetic sensor is disposed to detect the rotation of the drum from a change in a magnetic field created by the magnet.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2004Date of Patent: August 4, 2009Assignee: Mitsuba CorporationInventors: Masaei Sato, Toru Takahashi, Yoshitaka Sekine, Kousi Miura

Patent number: 7328934Abstract: There is provided a sliding door opening and closing device that improves layout flexibility of a driving unit in a self-propelled sliding door opening and closing device in which the driving unit is disposed on a sliding door side and that can protect a cable member without adding a component such as a decorative sheet. A lower rail is fixed to the vehicle body, and a lower arm guided along the lower rail is fixed to the sliding door. A driving unit for driving the sliding door for opening and closing has a drum driven by an electric motor for rotation. A cable is wound around the drum, wherein one end of the cable is fixed to the vehicle body on a vehicle-front side of the lower rail and the other end thereof is fixed to the vehicle body on a vehicle-rear side of the lower rail. This driving unit is incorporated inside the lower arm so as to be integrally formed with the lower arm.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2006Date of Patent: February 12, 2008Assignee: Mitsuba CorporationInventor: Masaei Sato

Patent number: 6009671Abstract: In a system for automatically opening or closing a sliding door or the like for a vehicle, an undesired clamping of an object between the door and the vehicle body, resulting in increased tension force in the wire moving the door, is sent early and relieved quickly. The wire (4) is solidly secured to the sliding door and wound onto a drum (10) to open or close the door by a motor driving the drum, and two tensioners (11a and 11b) are provided respectively on opposite sides of the drum and between the drum and door. Each sensor has a movable part (19) positioned in accordance with the tension force in the wire passing through the tensioner, sensor plates (20) are provided on the movable parts of the tensioners, and magnetic sensors (21) are provided to detect the moving speeds of the plates.Type: GrantFiled: October 17, 1997Date of Patent: January 4, 2000Assignees: Mitsuba Corporation, Honda Giken Kogyo Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Satoru Sasaki, Masaei Sato, Takayuki Kusaka

Patent number: 5929544Abstract: A drain structure for a fan motor prevents water from entering a discharge hole in the casing of the fan motor. A guiding passage is in opposed relation to the discharge hole and includes a front end portion covered by a fan boss section and an outer rib to prevent water from entering through the discharge hole into the casing. The guiding passage receives water discharged from the discharge hole. The discharge hole is formed in a lower portion of a casing cylindrical section. The casing cylindrical section is mounted on a fitting bracket for securement to a radiator.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 1996Date of Patent: July 27, 1999Assignee: Mitsuba CorporationInventors: Hirohiko Maekawa, Masaei Sato

Patent number: 5187492Abstract: The first structural aspect for mounting a telescopic antenna for an automobile includes a nut surrounding the top end portion of a spacer pipe and engaging with a threaded portion cut on the outside of the top end portion of a base pipe; a flange and a collar provided on a conducting pipe and the spacer pipe respectively and clamped between a contact portion provided on the nut and the top rim of the base pipe; and a flat ring positioned between the flange and the collar. The second structural aspect for mounting a telescopic antenna for an automobile includes resilient protrusions defined on the spacer pipe; holes defined on the conducting pipe, for engaging with the resilient protrusions when the spacer pipe is inserted in the conducting pipe so that the spacer pipe can be kept in position; and a portion around the resilient protrusions having an inside diameter greater than that of the spacer pipe. Both aspects help secure easy sliding of the antenna rods.Type: GrantFiled: June 28, 1991Date of Patent: February 16, 1993Assignee: Mitsuba Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Masaei Sato

Patent number: 5022815Abstract: The invention concerns a structure for mounting a fan to a fan motor. The structure is designed to fit a plurality of thrust washers onto the end of a motor shaft supported in a casing through a bearing and to thrust and fit a flat washer on a peripheral surface of a smaller diameter step formed on the tip side further than the washers-fitted section. Of these thrust washers, the most outer, tip side, thrust washer located opposite to the flat washer is thicker than the traveling play distance toward the core of a motor shaft and thinner than the interval from the adjacent thrust washer to the peripheral surface of the step. With the construction, hence, the invention serves to prevent the thrust washer from falling onto the smaller diameter step.Type: GrantFiled: September 7, 1989Date of Patent: June 11, 1991Assignee: Mitsuba Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventor: Masaei Sato

Patent number: 4855631Abstract: The brush holding device includes a brush box formed into a tubular shape, having opposite open ends, and being slidably provided in a hollow portion thereof with a brush. A cap is capped onto one end portion of the brush box to block the end portion, and for receiving a reaction force of a brush spring to bring the brush into sliding contact with a commutator. A projecting portion is provided on the cap to engage a portion of the brush box, so that side walls of the brush box can be prevented from deflecting inwardly. A frame portion of the cap may be coupled onto the outer periphery of the rear end portion of the brush box.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 1988Date of Patent: August 8, 1989Assignee: Mitsuba Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masaei Sato, Yukiteru Hosoya
