    Abstract: It is an object of the present invention to provide a grease composition, for an outer ring rotation type rolling bearing, which is capable of satisfying all of high-temperature durability, low-temperature property, peeling resistance, and rust-preventive property. A grease composition (7) to be enclosed in the outer rig rotation type rolling bearing for use in automotive electric auxiliary machines contains base oil, a thickener, a peeling-resistant additive, a wear-resistant additive, and a rust-preventive agent. The base oil is mixed oil of trimellitic acid ester oil and synthetic hydrocarbon oil mixed therewith in a mass ratio of (70:30) to (90:10). The thickener consists of a diurea compound shown by a formula (1). R1—NHCONH—R2—NHCONH—R1??(1) wherein a reference symbol R2 denotes a divalent aromatic hydrocarbon group having a carbon number of 6 to 15, and a reference symbol R1 denotes a cyclohexyl group.

The clearance variation in a unit of heater power varies depending on the radial position. Taking account of the variation in the heater power efficiency in the thermal fly-height control (TFC) depending on the radial position in addition to the clearance variation between the head element portion and the disk caused by variation in fly-height or attitude, accomplishes more accurate TFC.

    Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention relate to improving error recovery process performance. A head slider in an embodiment of this invention includes a heater for adjusting a clearance between a head element section and a magnetic disk. During an error recovery process (ERP) for a reading error, if a particular environmental temperature is in a low-temperature region, a microprocessing unit (MPU) executes the ERP steps of increasing a heater power value of the heater (i.e., STEP X to STEP X+2), preferentially over the ERP steps of reducing the heater power (i.e., STEP X+3 to STEP X+5). In the low-temperature region, the possibility of error recovery in an earlier step can be raised by executing the heater power increasing ERP steps earlier than the heater power reducing ERP steps.

In one embodiment, a hard disk drive (HDD) keeps a heater in an OFF state for a period of time from the start of seek operation until the specified timing after a following mode starts. This prevents a head element from colliding with a magnetic disk, and also prevents flying properties from changing due to the deformation of the ABS. In the above specified timing, the heater is switched from OFF to ON. Specifically, for example, on completion of seek operation, in the timing in which a head arrives at a target track, or in the timing in which an HDC/MPU enters the following mode, the heater is turned ON.

A method for weaving a thermoplastic synthetic fiber fabric using the reed on a water jet loom includes preparing warps of thermoplastic synthetic multi-filament yarns each of which has a twisting number of at least 100 per meter or each of which is provided with tie points and substantially zero-twist, and inserting a weft into a weaving shed with a stream of ejected water so that when the reed reaches its retracted position, a distance between the cloth-fell and a contact point intersecting a warp with a reed blade is decreased by using the doglegged reed blades.

    Abstract: A mechanism for compensating the servo data in a disk storage drive is provided. On each recording surface of a disk, a plurality of servo regions are diametrally formed in data regions along the diametral direction of the disk. In the servo region, a gray code (cyclic binary code) representing the address of a data track is recorded so as to correspond to the data track, and a burst pattern as a signal for positioning the head on the track are recorded. In the data track region, tracks are formed at a predetermined pitch P and in the tracks, a plurality of data is recorded. ID (Identification) is the identification information of the individual data. A servo compensation signal region is formed at a position sandwiched by the data region and the servo region known as the write recovery area. This is to compensate the servo signal in the servo region, thereby to enable error recovery when a read error or the like occurs in the servo region.
