The clamp body includes a through-hole, which accommodates the core block, inner surfaces opposed to the core block in the through-hole, and a bottom surface. The core block includes a body portion accommodated in the through-hole, a coupling portion to be coupled to the object of installation, and a protrusion that protrudes in a direction orthogonal to a central axis O of the through-hole. The protrusion is opposed to the bottom surface. The body portion is configured to be separated from one of the inner surfaces when contacting the other inner surface.

    Abstract: A socket has a base (10) that is to be fixed on a printed wiring substrate (not shown in the drawings) and a cover (12), in the shape of a square frame, that is reciprocably movable in the vertical direction relative to base (10). An adaptor (20) is fixed to the center of base (10) by means of bolts (22) and an elevator carrier (24) is mounted on adaptor (20) in such a manner as to move among first, second and third vertically disposed positions in dependence upon movement of the cover (12). A large number of contact elements (26) are arranged in a pattern corresponding to the lead terminal pattern of an IC package for loading in the socket. Above each contact row, there is provided a linkage mechanism (32, 36) including a laterally extending bar (36a) movable toward and away from contact elements (26) in dependence upon the vertical movement of the cover (12).

    Abstract: A burn-in socket is shown including a latch member (60) capable of moving leads (101) of an IC package (100) received on a seat (200) on a base member (20), biasing the leads into engagement with movable contact arms (212) of contacts (21) mounted in the base member. A linking mechanism (50), movable in dependence upon the vertical movement of a cover member (30), transmits the cover member movement to latch member (60). Linking mechanism (50) has an arm (52) pivotably connected at one end to the cover member (30) and at an opposite end to a lever body (54) intermediate opposite ends thereof. The lever body has one end pivotably connected to base member (20) and its opposite end connected to latch member (60). A return spring (40) places a bias on the cover to maintain it normally separated from the base member and provides a selected contact force. The socket can be used with a wide variety of IC package types either before or after leads extending from the IC package have been formed.

    Abstract: A socket for use in mounting of an electrical part with lead members has a main base member with contact elements secured therein and a reciprocating cover member movable up and down with respect to said base member and including a cam member adapted to engage said contact elements so that as said cover member moves from a first original position to a second position and back again the contact elements likewise move from the first position to a second position and then back again to the first position. This movement allows the insertion of the electrical part into the socket and the contacting of the contact elements with the lead members.
