  • Publication number: 20110036251
Abstract: An input of image data is received, and information of width and/or thickness of a recording medium, which receives an image representing the image data to be recorded thereon, is received. Then, a preset pressing pressure value, which is used when the image is recorded on the recording medium, is obtained based on the information of width and/or thickness, and information of image density in the reference area, which is a part of the image data, is obtained. Then, converted image density information is obtained by converting the information of image density in the reference area based on the pressing pressure value and the information of image density, and image data is generated according to the thus obtained converted image density information.

  • Patent number: 7093941
Abstract: An APL detection unit detects the APL for each unit field time period of an input video signal, and a light source control data production unit produces, depending on the results of the APL detection, a light source control signal at a minimum level which can stably drive a light source when the APL is 0% up to a predetermined value A1, a light source control signal at a maximum level which can stably drive the light source when the APL is a predetermined value A2 up to 100%, and a light source control signal which dynamically varies depending on the APL when the APL is between the predetermined value A1 and the predetermined value A2, to drive the light source on the basis of the light source control signal. As a result, it is possible to mitigate the lack of a contrast feeling and the occurrence of a floating blackness, as well as to improve the reliability of the light source.

  • Patent number: 6592228
Abstract: A projector that can be easily set up and adjusted is disclosed. In accordance with a projection condition inputted into a microcomputer via a remote-controller, the microcomputer selects an optimum projection lens by referring to correlation data showing a relation among a projection lens, a projection display size, and an optimum projection distance. The microcomputer has a screen to indicate an optimum projection lens and projection distance that satisfy the inputted projection condition. The microcomputer calculates the amounts of zoom and focus adjustments to be made to the projection lens with reference to the correlation data so as to attain the projection display size and the microcomputer automatically drives the projection lens via a zoom driving unit and a focus driving unit.

  • Patent number: 6422704
Abstract: A projector 100 projects an image onto a screen 200 by having light from a light source 111 pass through light valves 108˜110 corresponding to RGB colors and a projection lens 101. A special pattern is displayed on the light valves 108˜110 so that an image of the special pattern is projected onto the screen 200. The projector includes a half mirror 112 that directs light, which has been reflected back off this image on the screen 200 and back through the light valves 108˜110, toward the collective lens 113, and a light detecting element 114 for detecting the intensity of the light collected by the collective lens 113. Based on the detected intensity, the microcomputer 116 automatically adjusts the projection parameters of the projector 100.

  • Patent number: 5747949
Abstract: A control means individually turns each switching means on or off so that a current has a waveform which is approximate to a parabolic waveform and is appropriate for focusing current flows in a focusing coil, synchronizing with a horizontal sweep. When the focusing current increases, energy is transferred from the power source to the focusing coil. When the focusing current decreases, energy is returned from the focusing coil to the power source by a flywheel current. Thus, the focusing current is supplied with less consumption.

  • Patent number: 5463427
Abstract: A dynamic focusing device for cathode ray tubes comprising a crosshatch pattern generator for providing a surface of cathode ray tubes with a crosshatch pattern indicating an adjustment point at which focusing control is carried out. The system uses correction data to achieve proper focus at each adjustment point, i.e., the intersection of the vertical and horizontal lines of the crosshatch pattern defined by arbitrarily divided blocks on the surface of the cathode ray tube. The data between adjacent adjustment points is interpolated in the vertical and horizontal directions to supply an output signal providing proper dynamic focus of the cathode ray tube. The disclosed device produces proper focus uniformity and is able to produce a high definition television image on direct-view devices or projection systems which utilize cathode ray tubes.

  • Patent number: 5434485
Abstract: In a focus circuit for cathode-ray tube (40) of electromagnetic focusing type, a DC voltage (B4) which is made by dividing CRT anode voltage (B3) by a voltage dividing circuit (27) is compared with a reference voltage (B6) by an anode voltage variation component detection circuit (29), thereby to output therefrom a signal (Ve) of anode voltage variation component. This signal (Ve) and static focus adjusting DC voltage (B7) are summed and amplified by an output amplifier 30, which issues a current for correcting focus to electromagnetic focusing coil (31).
