  • Publication number: 20130315563
Abstract: Various kinds of digital broadcast recording and playback are supported even when PSI (Program Specific Information) or SI (Service Information) is unknown. A management area of an information storage medium used in digital broadcast recording has management information for each broadcast station, and also management information of a type that does not specify any broadcast station. The management information of the type that does not specify any broadcast station includes information indicating invalidity of information (PSI, SI) associated with broadcast contents.

  • Publication number: 20130315564
Abstract: An embodiment may allow not only information management of contents which are to be recorded and played back by the user but also information management which has affinity for contents distributed by contents providers. An information storage medium may have a file structure that manages first high-definition video information which can be recorded by the user and second high-definition video information which can be provided by a contents provider. The management area is configured to include management information used to manage playback of the digital stream signal including the second high-definition video information.

  • Publication number: 20130308923
Abstract: There is provided a system configured to prevent recording contents of various broadcasting schemes from being recorded together on a single recording medium while supporting various broadcasting schemes. An optical disc used here can record a digital stream complying with a predetermined digital broadcasting scheme and including specific information APP_NAME corresponding to a broadcasting scheme to be recorded. The broadcasting scheme to be recorded is checked. If another digital stream has already been recorded on the optical disc, its broadcasting scheme is detected from APP_NAME, and is compared with that of the stream to be recorded. If these broadcasting schemes are different, recording is aborted.

  • Publication number: 20080145024
Abstract: To attain a state in which data broadcast and broadcast related information can be easily recorded in a recording device and at the same time all or a part of the recorded data can be cut out for reuse. A first file 501 includes management data 505 for managing broadcast or the like. A separate file 502 includes time map data 506. A second file 503 includes normal broadcast 507, program linked data broadcast 508, independent data broadcast 509, and independent audio broadcast 510. The extraction data copied or cut from the second file is recorded in a third file 504 as MPEG video data 511, MPEG audio data 512, JPEG data 513, PNG data 514, MNG data 515, or BML data 516 in accordance with a type of the data. Editing, deletion, processing, and particular reproduction can be performed on the extraction data recorded in the third file by referring to the management data 505.

  • Publication number: 20080138041
Abstract: A first file 401 includes management data 404. The data 404 describes management information units related to a plurality of transport streams 406 and 407 constituting a second file 403. A third file 402 includes only time map data 405 indicating the relationship between time and recording position of the transport stream 406 and does not include time map data related to the other transport stream 407. In this arrangement, multistream data, multichannel data, or full TS data is recorded as the transport stream 407. Accordingly, multistream recording or multichannel recording, and full TS recording can be easily realized in a video recorder for, e.g. a DVD.
