Publication number: 20040088925Abstract: A door seal structure for sealing between a door opening portion of a vehicle body and a door frame of a vehicle door. The door seal structure has a protrusion formed in the door frame and protruding inwardly of a glass run holding part for holding a glass run, and a cover member for covering the protrusion and concealing it from a vehicle compartment when the vehicle door is closed. The protrusion has a longitudinally extending depression near a protruding wall of the protrusion, and an inner end edge of the cover member is seated in the longitudinally extending depression. When the vehicle door is closed, the protrusion of the door frame is not seen from the vehicle compartment, and the inner end edge of the cover member does not contact a tubular seal portion of an opening weather strip attached along the door opening portion to prevent wear of the tubular seal portion. Accordingly, the appearance and durability around the door frame are improved.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2003Publication date: May 13, 2004Inventor: Masahiro Nozaki

Patent number: 6668488Abstract: A glass run for use in a motor vehicle, which is capable of preventing the increase in a sliding resistance against a door glass which is raised and lowered in the glass run. At least one inclined surface is formed in an inside surface of a side wall of the glass run from the position corresponding to a projecting end of a seal lip which extends obliquely inwardly from an opening-side end of the side wall, to a bottom wall. The inclined surface is defined such that the distance between the inclined surface and the door glass gradually increases toward a bottom-side end of the side wall. The inclined surface enables the projecting end of the seal lip which is pushed by the door glass toward the side wall to move smoothly therealong, thereby preventing the increase in the pressing force of the door glass against the seal lip.Type: GrantFiled: August 28, 2001Date of Patent: December 30, 2003Assignee: Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masahiro Nozaki, Norihide Ohta

Patent number: 6655698Abstract: A sealing member to be attached along a periphery of a door with a continuous good sealing performance against a facing opening portion even in a corner of the periphery of the door. A bar-shaped magnet is provided in a tubular seal portion of the sealing member so as to extend in a longitudinal direction thereof in close contact with an inside surface of a contacting part of a seal wall, which contacts the facing opening portion. The bar-shaped magnet has a cross-sectional shape of which the width gradually decreases from the side of the contacting part of the seal wall inwardly of the tubular seal portion, thereby reducing the cross-sectional area of the magnet, and enabling the magnet to be readily bent along a corner of the periphery of the door. And the bar-shaped magnet has an outwardly curving contacting surface, which contacts the contacting part of the seal wall, thereby improving contacting properties between the sealing member and a corner of the opening portion.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2002Date of Patent: December 2, 2003Assignees: Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd., Takechi Kogyo Gomu Co., Ltd.Inventors: Masahiro Nozaki, Katsunori Kawai
