  • Patent number: 6801181
Abstract: Between a positive power supply 18 and a negative power supply 19, a p-channel transistor 11 and an n-channel transistor 14 are connected in series while a p-channel transistor 12 and an n-channel transistor 15 are also connected in series. An inverted input signal *Sig1 is input to the respective gates of the transistors 11 and 14, while an input signal Sig1 is input to the respective gates of the transistors 12 and 15. As a result, of a pair of the transistors connected in series, namely either the transistors 11 and 14 or the transistors 12 and 15, when one transistor turns ON, the other transistor turns OFF. Thus, generation of through currents is prevented.

  • Publication number: 20040027315
Abstract: A display allowing further miniaturization when including a plurality of display panels is obtained. This display comprises a first display panel formed on a substrate and a second display panel formed on the same substrate on a region different from that formed with the first display panel. Thus, the display can be further miniaturized as compared with that having a first display panel and a second display panel formed on different substrates.

  • Patent number: 6690110
Abstract: A wide line portion is extended from a cathode and another wide line portion is formed by second lines extending from cathode terminals. A contact CN1, which is also wide, is formed to connect both wide line portions in a portion where two wide line portions overlap, with an insulating film being interposed therebetween. Further, fifth line connected to the wide line portion is contact with the cathode at second contacts provided in the periphery of the display region. IN these contacts, an intermediate layer composed of a conductive oxide material is interposed, to thereby prevent deterioration of display quality by preventing reduction of a voltage applied to the cathode due to increased line resistance between the terminals and the cathode.

  • Publication number: 20030094895
Abstract: A wide line portion is drawn from a cathode while another wide line portion is formed by gathered lines extending from cathode terminals. A contact of realtively large size is formed in a region where the two wide line portions overlap each other with an insulating film being interposed therebetween, so as to connect both wide line portions. Further, in this contact, the cathode terminals and the cathode are connected through an intermediate layer composed of a conductive oxide material. Thus, a reduction in the voltage to be applied to the cathode as a result of increased line resistance between the terminals and the cathode can be prevented, thereby preventing deterioration of display quality.

  • Patent number: 6556176
Abstract: There are provided a data register (8) for driving an EL element (6) by a current flowing in a data line (3) via a TFT (5) while sequentially capturing input digital video data for each data line, a latch circuit (10) for holding the data received in the data register (8) during 1 H period, and n analog switches (120 to 123) provided between each data line (3) and a power supply line (11), to which n bit of digital video data for each one data line is input bit by bit as each control signal. The transistors constituting each switch are made different sizes. As the current amount flowing in each switch therefore differs, the EL element emits light with a luminance in accordance with the digital video data.

  • Publication number: 20020084963
Abstract: A low power-consumption active matrix display device including gate lines, drain lines, and pixel electrodes, which are arranged at intersections between the gate lines and the drain lines, A drain line driver is connected to the drain lines to select a drain line and provide the selected drain line with an image signal. A gate line driver is connected to the gate lines to select a predetermined gate line and provide the selected gate line with a gate signal. Level shifters are connected to the drain line driver to operate in a time-dividing manner. Each level shifter supplies the drain line driver with a boosted voltage.

  • Patent number: 5574477
Abstract: A single liquid-crystal display can be used to be either of direct-vision or projection type, if required. Separate display devices for monitor and OHP are not required. Further, power consumption can be reduced, with the service life of the display being prolonged to improve economy. The liquid-crystal display includes a display housing which receives a liquid-crystal panel, a driver circuit unit and a cooling fan, the display housing being detachably mountable in a back light stand. When the display housing is mounted or dismounted in the back light stand, the fan and back light can automatically be turned on or off to reduce the power consumption. The liquid-crystal panel can be prevented from being degraded by cooling it by way of the fan.

  • Patent number: 5537233
Abstract: In a display housing, first and Second liquid-crystal panels are disposed in parallel with each other, and a fluorescent lamp is positioned beside both ends of a gap between these panels. Thus, when used for a transmission type display, e.g. an OHP, the first liquid-crystal panel for light shutter is set in a transmission condition to transmit light from a light source for the OHP or the like and to irradiate the second liquid-crystal panel for displaying an image, thereby projecting the image in a magnified size onto a screen or the like. When used for a direct-vision type display, e.g. a monitor for a personal computer or the like, the first liquid-crystal panel is set in a shading condition to effect diffuse reflection of light from the fluorescent lamp by the first liquid-crystal panel and to irradiate the second liquid-crystal panel, thereby providing a direct-vision image.
