  • Patent number: 5171963
Abstract: A laser processing device includes a Z stage movable in the up and down directions with respect to a XY stage movable in the X, Y directions on which an object to be processed is provided. The surface of the object to be processed is image-sensed by a CCD camera through a lens of an electrically-driven revolver attached to the Z stage, which is projected in a monitor. When a defect of the object is displayed in the monitor, a laser beam is radiated to a defective portion of the object from a laser head provided in the Z stage and the defective portion is removed.

  • Patent number: 5151482
Abstract: A monomer comprising methyl methacrylate either alone or in combination with another acrylic or methacrylic ester monomer is partially polymerized to prepare a syrup, to which an initiator including a peroxide having a 10-hour half-life temperature of 50.degree. to 58.degree. C. and 2,2'-azobisisobutyronitrile are added. The resulting syrup, after being poured into a mold, is initially polymerized in a first step at a temperature of 75.degree. to 90.degree. C. for a period of 5 to 15 minutes, then further polymerized in a second step at a temperature 3.degree. to 12.degree. C. lower than the temperature of the first step polymerization until a conversion of monomer to polymer of 80 to 95% is attained. The polymerization product which is now in the form of a sheet is then heat-treated at a temperature of 95.degree. to 140.degree. C. to obtain a methacrylic resin sheet.

  • Patent number: 4832932
Abstract: Oxidizing treatment of carbon fibers under specific conditions provides carbon fibers having oxygen concentration (O.sub.1S /C.sub.1S atom number ratio) in the surface part of the carbon fibers of 0.05 to 0.30 as measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, coefficients of water-extractable fraction of up to 2.0, and coefficients of tow spread of at least 1.times.10.sup.-3. These carbon fibers are excellent in adhesion to various matrix resins and when mixed as reinforcements with matrix resins, provide composite materials superior especially in impact resistance. The thus obtained composite materials are useful for aircraft, automobiles, and general industrial materials.

  • Patent number: 4370966
Abstract: A fuel feed system adapted to maintain at a constant value the pressure difference across a fuel measuring gate disposed in a fuel feed passage and control the area of opening of the fuel measuring gate in connection with the amount of air being sucked into an internal combustion engine so as to continuously measure the fuel, the measured fuel being concentratedly injected at a positive pressure into the suction pipe. The system comprises an accelerator pump interlocked to a throttle valve for injecting fuel at a positive pressure into the suction pipe during acceleration. The accelerator pump is fed with fuel sucked up from the return pipe of a pressure regulator which feeds the fuel measuring gate with fuel at a predetermined pressure.
