    Abstract: The present invention provides an agent for determining Alzheimer's disease, comprising an anti-S38AA antibody, a method of determining Alzheimer's disease in a test animal, comprising detecting an S38AA fragment in a sample collected from said animal, and a method of screening for a substance that treats or prevents Alzheimer's disease, comprising contacting a test substance with a cell permitting measurement of production of a S38AA fragment, measuring the production amount of the S38AA fragment in the cell, and comparing the production amount with that of the S38AA fragment in a control cell free of contact with the test substance, and selecting a test substance that down-regulates the production amount of the S38AA fragment as a substance capable of treating or preventing Alzheimer's disease, based on the comparison results.

    Abstract: A warm-air blowing circuit and another warm-air blowing circuit are disposed so as to heat a film from both sides of a projection side and a recess side of a die, warm air reaches and heats the film from the time of supplying of the film, warm air continues to enter a space in which a resin is to be ejected even after the die is closed, and thereby the film is likely to extend. Therefore, the film is unlikely to be torn at the time of molding when the film is likely to be shaped after a shape of the die and it is possible to prevent broken pieces of the film or broken pieces of a decoration film from being mixed and being stuck to the surface of the die such that it is possible to improve quality of the external appearance of a molded product.

    Abstract: A medical appliance driving apparatus includes positive and negative pressure sources and an isolator having an input chamber and an output chamber which are defined by a movable membrane. A first switching valve is connected to the positive pressure source and has its output side connected to the input chamber. A second switching valve is connected to the negative pressure source and has its input side connected to the input chamber. A solenoid valve is also connected to the input chamber. A microcomputer supplies the isolator with a positive or negative pressure by controlling the operation of the first or second switching valve, and after opening the first switching valve, closes it and controls the operation of the solenoid valve so as to adjust the pressure in the input chamber to a predetermined positive pressure value.

    Abstract: A medical appliance driving apparatus has a switching valve connected to both positive and negative pressure sources to output positive and negative pressures while switching them from one to the other, and an isolator having an input chamber and an output chamber which are defined by a movable membrane, the input chamber being connected to the switching valve. A solenoid valve is connected to the output chamber of the isolator, and a microcomputer is provided for switching the switching valve to the positive pressure side or the negative pressure side and controlling the operation of the solenoid valve. When the switching valve is activated to the positive pressure source side and the solenoid valve is opened, a positive pressure which is supplied to the input chamber causes the movable membrane to move in a direction in which the medical appliance is expanded.
