  • Patent number: 7343309
Abstract: A system and method for permitting a consumer to compare premium estimates form a plurality of insurance providers based on inputting conditions which affect the premium calculation a single time to a network such as the Internet. A user initiates a session by connecting his computer to an insurance comparison website provided by a service underwriter. The user inputs various conditions which might affect the premium for a desired insurance product. The user inputs condition data to condition input screen and sends the condition data to the service underwriter. The service underwriter converts the condition data into a form suitable for a standard interface and sends the formatted data to computers of one or more participating and user selected insurance companies or underwriters. A premium calculation engine at the computer for each insurance company calculates an estimated premium. This, and other pertinent insurance policy data, is displayed to the user.

  • Publication number: 20070260494
Abstract: A method and system for providing a user with insurance premium estimates from insurance providers for an insurance product. Insurance providers for the insurance product are selected by the user. Conditions input indicating conditions effecting the insurance premiums are transmitted from the user's computer to a service computer. The service computer converts the conditions input into a standard format suitable to a common interface and sends the converted conditions input to the user's computer. The converted conditions input is sent from the user's computer to the selected insurance providers without passing through or interacting with the service computer while being sent from the user's computer to the selected insurance providers. The insurance premium estimates from the selected insurance providers are received by the user's computer and displayed on a display unit of the user's computer in accordance with the conditions input and the selected insurance providers.

  • Patent number: 6302794
Abstract: A game machine capable of providing proper expected values. The game machine is provided with a prize decision table to be applied to a game in an ordinary probability game state and a prize decision table to be applied to a game in a high probability game state. The former and latter prize decision tables are stored with at least data of numbers of lottery random numbers for providing basis of the individual lottery probabilities for individual prize modes. By increasing the number of lottery random numbers for a predetermined mode in the high probability game state but by decreasing the number of lottery random numbers for another mode, the prize probability of the predetermined mode is enhanced, and an expected value to be obtained in the high probability game state is set to a proper expected value or less.

  • Patent number: 6128008
Abstract: A game machine display testing apparatus reduces man-hours required to test a newly developed or altered game machine display to a great extent. A library (14) generates commands as transmission data to be transmitted to a game machine display 200. The transmission data is displayed on a table provided on a transmission data display unit 38 so that required data can be selected. The selected data is transmitted to the game machine display 200. An image formation CPU emulation unit 16 executes an image formation program that is held in an image formation program holder 17. The image formation program extracts required data from the image data that is held in an image data holding unit 18 and uses the extracted image data so as to compose images that correspond to the generated transmission data. The image formation program then displays the composed images onto a screen 12 of the game machine display testing apparatus that is emulating the game machine display, and extracts image data from the screen 12.

  • Patent number: 5235527
Abstract: There is provided a method for diagnosing an abnormal state of a sensor having a nonlinear output characteristic in which an output signal of a sensor changes nonlinearly. The method includes the steps of determining a first detection value which is indicated by the output signal of the sensor at a predetermined time, and determining a second detection value which is indicated by the output signal of the sensor obtained when a detection value indicated by the output signal has changed by a predetermined variation from the first detection value. The method also includes judging whether or not a deviation between the first detection value and the second detection value is out of a predetermined range, and determining that the sensor has an abnormal state when it is determined that the deviation is out of the predetermined range.

  • Patent number: 4989451
Abstract: A throttle valve sensor having at least two switches for detecting different positions of a throttle valve. The setting of the switching conditions of the switches is such that these switches can not be made OFF simultaneously, over the entire range of the degree of opening of the throttle valve. A detachment of a connector connecting the sensor to a control circuit causes the corresponding port voltage level to be that obtained when all of the switches are made OFF, and as a result, a quick and positive detection of a detachment of the connector can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 4865593
Abstract: A cannula, such as commonly used for introduction of a catheter through the cannula into a body cavity, includes a plastic tube and an adaptor at one end of the tube. For easy removal of the cannula from around the catheter, the tube and adaptor are splittable along two or more longitudinal grooves or induction lines in the tube and adaptor. The induction lines are circumferentially spaced apart by an angle of 45.degree. to 180.degree.. Near the end of the tube opposite the adaptor, the induction lines in the tube are twisted, or extend circumferentially, providing increased stability of the induction lines to minimize premature splitting during manipulation of the cannula.
