  • Patent number: 11939695
Abstract: A quartz glass crucible 1 having a cylindrical side wall portion 10a, a bottom portion 10b, and a corner portion 10c includes a transparent layer 11 as an innermost layer made of quartz glass, a semi-molten layer 13 as an outermost layer made of raw material silica powder solidified in a semi-molten state, and a bubble layer 12 made of quartz glass interposed therebetween. An infrared transmissivity of the corner portion 10c in a state where the semi-molten layer 13 is removed is 25 to 51%, the infrared transmissivity of the corner portion 10c in the state where the semi-molten layer 13 is removed is lower than an infrared transmissivity of the side wall portion 10a, and the infrared transmissivity of the side wall portion 10a in the state where the semi-molten layer 13 is removed is lower than an infrared transmissivity of the bottom portion 10b.

  • Patent number: 10974315
Abstract: Provided is a production method capable of producing a high-quality continuously cast material. A cooling liquid is supplied to each of outer peripheral surfaces of a plurality of ingots extracted in parallel from a plurality of molds to cool the plurality of ingots. Of the outer peripheral surfaces of the ingot, a region which is open and does not face another ingot is defined as an open region, and a region which faces another ingot is defined as an ingot facing region. The open region is cooled with weak cooling in which the degree of cooling by the cooling liquid in the open region is set to be less than the degree of cooling by the cooling liquid in the ingot facing region.

  • Patent number: 10960462
Abstract: A method of producing a continuously cast metal rod capable of producing a high-quality continuously cast material is provided. In the method of producing a continuously cast metal rod, a cooling liquid is supplied to each of outer peripheral surfaces of a plurality of ingots extracted from a plurality of molds in parallel to cool each of the plurality of ingots. In a predetermined ingot, the number of adjacent ingots is the number of other ingots arranged around the predetermined so as to face the predetermined ingot, and an ingot small in the number of adjacent ingots is cooled with weak cooling in which the degree of cooling by the cooling liquid is reduced with respect to an ingot large in the number of adjacent ingots.

  • Publication number: 20200122227
Abstract: A continuous casting apparatus for metal is provided. A refrigerant is ejected from ejection ports arranged on an outer side of an outer periphery of an ingot to cool the ingot that continuously passes through a mold and solidifies. When an axis connecting the ejection port and an axis of the ingot is denoted as a projection reference axis as viewed in a direction of the axis of the ingot, the ejection port is configured such that an ejection direction of the refrigerant ejected from the ejection port is inclined in one direction with reference to the projection reference axis so that the ejection direction of the refrigerant do not intersect with the axis of the ingot.
