  • Patent number: 6622673
Abstract: An oil pressure control apparatus for an internal combustion engine that has a source of hydraulic pressure and a hydraulic actuator which is actuated by hydraulic pressure provided via a fluid passage which is in communication with the source of hydraulic pressure. A control valve is disposed in the fluid passage for controlling the hydraulic pressure introduced to the actuator. A damper, which is disposed in a fluid communication between the hydraulic actuator and the control valve, is operative to attenuate the force of a pulsing stream of a working fluid in the fluid passage.

  • Patent number: 6129060
Abstract: A camshaft phase changing apparatus for an internal combustion engine has a control valve interposed in a hydraulic circuit. The control valve controls the connection between one of first and second hydraulic passages and the hydraulic supply passage and the connection between the other of the first and second hydraulic passages to the hydraulic drain passage according to the engine driving condition. The first and second hydraulic passages are linked to a corresponding one of an advance-angle side hydraulic chamber and a retardation-angle side hydraulic chamber defined between a rotatable main body and a sleeve fitted on the camshaft. The control valve has a first port connecting the hydraulic drain passage to either the first or second hydraulic passage, and a second port connecting the hydraulic supply passage to the other of the first or second hydraulic passage.

  • Patent number: 6129062
Abstract: In a camshaft phase changing apparatus for an internal combustion engine, a plurality of sealed surfaces are formed between an inner peripheral surface of a predetermined hole (a retaining hole formed in an engine cylinder block) present between respective annular hydraulic introducing grooves and an outer peripheral surface of a valve body of an electromagnetic type hydraulic control valve and a length of one of the sealed surfaces having a first difference in pressure is set to be longer than that of the other of the sealed surfaces having a second difference in pressure, the first difference in pressure being larger than the second difference in pressure. In the embodiment, an axial length (S1, S1) of each of the one of the sealed surfaces is set to be longer than that (S2, S2) of each of the others of the sealed surfaces.

  • Patent number: 5839561
Abstract: An automatic clutch system includes an operating cylinder which is interconnected through a release lever with a friction element engaging mechanism. The operating cylinder is communicated with a master cylinder and an auxiliary cylinder through a hydraulic passage. A worm wheel driven by a motor has first and second connecting points which are oppositely disposed with respect to a rotation axis of the worm wheel. The first connecting point is interconnected with a piston rod of the master cylinder and has a first distance from the rotation axis. The second connecting point is interconnecting with a piston rod of the auxiliary cylinder and has a second distance from the rotation axis. The second distance is set smaller than the first distance so that the volume change of the auxiliary cylinder side is smaller than that of the mater cylinder side. Therefore, this cylinder arrangement functions stable to cancel a reaction force of a pressure spring of the friction element engaging mechanism to the worm wheel.

  • Patent number: 5707292
Abstract: A vibration damping equipment for a torsional damper comprises a hub plate, side plates, a torsion spring, a friction block, and low rigidity members. Each low rigidity member is interposed between the hub plate and each friction block to be adjacent to each other through a partition of the hub plate. The low rigidity members are connected to each other on at least one axial side of the partition.

  • Patent number: 5558579
Abstract: A torsional damper comprises damper elements which are resiliently coupled by a spring arrangement and a friction generating device. One of the damper elements has a radially extending wall. The friction generating device includes a plurality of friction blocks received by the other damper element with play in the circumferential direction, and a spring arranged to bias the plurality of friction blocks against the radially extending wall. In order to absorb the shock of engagement of each of the plurality of friction blocks with the other damper element, a cushion is provided.
