  • Patent number: 6222711
Abstract: A bus-bar protection relay equipment includes a data-acquisition means, a check zone protection means, a fault bus-bar judging means, and a tripping bus-bar judging means. A data-acquisition means transforms analog current signal from the current transformer connected to the bus-bar with two or more dependency regions into digital data at every predetermined cycle. The check zone protection means computes amount Id (vector sum) of operation, and the amount Ir (scalar sum) of inhibition using the digital data transformed by this data-acquisition means. The check zone protection means transforms analog current from the current transformer of a line segment into digital data “n” multiplied with. The amount Id of operation and the amount Ir of inhibition are computed. An actuating signal is outputted when predetermined relationship is satisfied by using the amounts Id and Ir.

  • Patent number: 6037773
Abstract: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus has a gantry including various coils such as a static field coil and gradient field coils, a top board for supporting an examinee and moving the examinee into and out of an opening of the gantry, and an approximately cylindrical RF coil defining a hollow space therein. The RF coil is set to the top board, with an axis of the hollow space extending at an angle to the horizontal. The examinee's imaging site is inserted into the hollow space of the RF coil to have sectional images picked up. Since the RF coil is set to the top board with the axis of the hollow space inclined relative to the horizontal, sectional images may be picked up by using the approximately cylindrical RF coil while allowing the examinee to take a comfortable posture without enlarging the RF coil.

  • Patent number: 5433151
Abstract: A railway car body structure running at a high speed and a production method thereof. To reduce vibration and noise and to prevent influences of outdoor pressure variations on passengers in the case of a high-speed railway car, the weight of the car body structure must be reduced and its pressure resistance must be improved. Each of the side units, roof unit and end unit and floor plates of an underframe of the car body structure includes plate members obtained by joining two surface materials, a core material and binding materials through metal-to-metal bonding. The sheet thickness of the surface material on an outdoor side is greater than a sheet thickness of the surface material on an indoor side. The plate members are constructed as a block, and a plurality of blocks are joined so as to form the side units, roof unit or the floor plates of the underframe.

  • Patent number: 5199632
Abstract: A method is provided for making a passenger car body structure which has a panel assembly forming at least part of a side, the roof, and end of the floorplate. Each panel has inner and outer spaced metal sheets and a cellular metal core brazed to the sheets and maintaining them spaced apart. To join the panels, a metal connecting member is joined to at least one of the inner and outer sheets and has a projection for use in welding the panel to the neighboring panel. The projection extends in the lateral direction of the panel and is preferably of material thicker than the general sheet thickness of the sheets. A frame member of the body structure may be welded to the panels at the joint.

  • Patent number: 5098007
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a portion of a vehicle body, with the portion being at least part of one of a side, an end, a roof, and a floor plate of the body. The method comprises the steps of providing extruded metal plates formed of a light alloy metal with each of the plates having welding edges and integral structural ribs extending parallel to the welding edges on the inner face of the plates, arranging the plates on a jig in position for welding of the welding edges, without an overlap of the welding edges, restraining the plates in a welding position on the jig, and welding the welding edges on the jig by one-sided welding from an inner side of the plates to produce continuous welds. Frame members extending transversely to the structural ribs can be welded on the same side without moving the plate from the jig.
