  • Patent number: 7571491
Abstract: In a television receiver having a decryption unit and a video display unit which are stored in one casing, copyright protection is given to an encrypted digital video signal or analog video signal. When an encrypted digital video signal is inputted to a digital video signal input terminal, the signal is decrypted by a decoding circuit to obtain an after-decryption video signal that is copiable, and thereafter, the signal is visualized by a video display unit. When a casing cover is opened, a decoding control circuit converts a parameter that is needed for decryption, such as an encryption key, into a meaningless parameter, and outputs it to the decoding circuit, whereby the after-decryption video signal becomes a video signal that is not decrypted. On the other hand, during maintenance, a predetermined code is inputted from a button group (18) to output a regular decryption parameter to the decoding circuit (13).

  • Publication number: 20080057336
Abstract: A surface-treated metal material having, formed on the surface of a metal base member, an inorganic surface-treating layer that contains inorganic components or, further, having an organic surface-treating layer formed on the inorganic surface-treating layer, the inorganic surface-treating layer containing at least M (M is at least one of Ti, Zr or Al), O and F. The organic surface-treating layer comprises a silane coupling agent containing Si in an amount of 0.8 to 30 mg/m2 or a phenol-type water-soluble organic compound. The surface treatment without using chromium can be applied to various metal base members featuring excellent environmental friendliness, excellent resistance against discoloration even when applied to tin-plated steel plates, and offering excellent characteristics such as the close adhesion to the organic resin coating, adhesive property, corrosion resistance and dent resistance.

  • Patent number: 5491938
Abstract: A high damping device combined with the frame of a building to protect the building from seismic shock. For seismic vibration up to a predetermined level corresponding to the permissible strength of the high damping device, a damping coefficient c of the high damping device is set so as to be c.sub.3 =c=c.sub.1 with respect to a damping coefficient c.sub.3 for giving the maximum value of a damping factor h.sub.3 corresponding to a tertiary mode of vibration of the structure and a damping coefficient c.sub.1 for giving the maximum value of a damping factor h.sub.1 corresponding to a primary mode of vibration. The maximum load on the high damping device is predetermined and means are provided to prevent the high damping device from being damaged in the event that the predetermined maximum load is exceeded. The inventive combination permits the stiffness factor of the building to be reduced from a factor of 1.0 down to a factor as low as 0.3, with a proportionate reduction in steel frame mass.

  • Patent number: 5065555
Abstract: An elasto-plastic damper is adapted to be used in a structure, such as a building and other facilities, for absorbing vibration energy created by earthquake tremors and other ground vibrations. The damper is a centrally bulged and generally cone-shaped hollow body of revolution so that its section modulus changes substantially porportional to a bending moment created in the damper body due to horizontal stresses, thus permitting a maximum degree of deformability. This elasto-plastic damper is compact in size and demonstrates a high degree of vibrational energy absorbability.

  • Patent number: 4902983
Abstract: A device for compensating for nonlinearity of amplifiers by use of a predistortion principle, and a nonlinear signal generating circuit built in such a device. The nonlinear signal generating circuit includes a quadrature hybrid of the type using a distributed constant line. Two diodes and a terminal resistor are connected in parallel and opposite in polarity to each other and connected between the terminals of coupling and passing ports of the hybrid and ground. The nonlinear compensating device is constituted by the combination of a plurality of quadrature hybrids of the type using a distributed constant line and various kinds of diodes. All the circuit segments of the device are implemented with a planar circuit provided on a single dielectric substrate and diodes which are held in a pair chip condition. Such circuitry is accommodated in a single air-tight housing to complete a microwave integrated circuit.
