  • Publication number: 20010038240
Abstract: A brake force control apparatus performs brake assist control (BA control) to increase brake fluid pressure in order to generate a greater brake force than that generated during normal operation when it has been determined that emergency braking has been performed by a driver. The brake force control apparatus prohibits BA control with respect to the rear wheels and supplies a large brake fluid pressure only to the front wheels when conditions for performing BA control have been established (step 100) and an absolute value of a lateral acceleration Gy exceeds a predetermined value K (step 102). As a result, a reduction of cornering force of the rear wheels attendant upon performance of BA control is itself reduced and a tendency to oversteer is thereby suppressed.

  • Patent number: 6254436
Abstract: An electrical connector for an automotive headlamp includes a connector housing formed from an insulating material and electrical terminals which are electrically conductive and inserted into the respective sleeves of the connector housing. Respective planar connecting portions of the electrical terminals are disposed in the same plane and are disposed to as to about a plane in which corresponding external terminals provided in the lamp are disposed. Thus, the length of the connector housing in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the planar connecting portions can be reduced, thereby reducing the width of the electrical connector. As a result, the overall height of the headlamp can be reduced.

  • Patent number: 6161951
Abstract: A vehicular headlamp including a discharge bulb which allows mounting of a lighting circuit case to a lamp body using a simple and inexpensive structure and which allows for easy removal of the lighting circuit case therefrom. Because it is disposed within the lamp body, the lighting circuit case need not have a full waterproof structure, and thus it can be formed as a simple, light-weight and inexpensive structure. The lamp body is composed of a main body having an opening and a cover for closing the opening. A mounting portion for the lighting circuit case is formed at a position closely adjacent the opening of the main body of the lamp body. As a result, the lighting circuit case can be easily removed through the opening.
