  • Patent number: 8553564
Abstract: A management apparatus for managing a computer system stores configuration information of multiple management-target apparatuses based on multiple first information received from multiple management-target apparatuses. The management apparatus, based on the configuration information and multiple additional component application condition information, determines whether or not to use multiple additional component information to acquire multiple second information from the multiple management-target apparatuses. The management apparatus, in a case where a determination to carry out acquisition is made, uses the multiple additional component information to receive the multiple second information from the multiple management-target apparatuses, and based on the multiple second information, either creates or updates the management information of the multiple management-target apparatuses.

  • Patent number: 8356208
Abstract: To quickly establish an inferring result when a problem is detected in an operation management system equipped with a rule-based inference processing function, there is provided a method of collecting information for managing a computer system equipped with a plurality of devices. The computer system holds rule for associating a plurality of events with a conclusion output when all of the plurality of events have been detected. The method includes: executing, at a first interval, polling to obtain information indicating whether each of the plurality of events has been detected; judging whether the plurality of events have been detected; and executing, upon judgment that at least one of the plurality of events has been detected and none of the remaining events have been detected, before execution of next polling at the first interval, polling to obtain information indicating whether at least one of the undetected remaining events has been detected.

  • Patent number: 7916419
Abstract: A posture adjustment method of a magnetic head is provided. A magnetic head initial position adjustment apparatus measures an initial position of the magnetic head and writes the initial position into an adjustment position information shared apparatus. A magnetic head posture adjustment apparatus reads from the adjustment position information shared apparatus, and information of an adjustment amount given to the magnetic head when the magnetic head is moved and adjusted to a final position is written in the adjustment position information shared apparatus. An adjustment position as a current position of the magnetic head is calculated using the initial position information and the adjustment amount information.
