  • Patent number: 4989644
Abstract: A weft treatment system and method for removing a mispicked weft yarn from a weft path of a fluid jet loom of the type wherein a weft yarn from a weft supply member is introduced through a weft storage unit to a weft inserting nozzle to be picked. With this system and method, a mispicked weft yarn is detected when mispick occurs. Then, the operation of a cutter and weaving operation of the loom are stopped. Subsequently, the loom is reversely run to expose the mispicked weft yarn at the cloth fell of a woven fabric. More specifically, the weft winding arm is reversely rotated around the storage drum to unwind the weft yarn on the drum. The thus exposed mispicked weft yarn is drawn through the weft storage unit by a weft traction device disposed between the weft supply member and the weft storage unit.

  • Patent number: 4969489
Abstract: A weft threading system for threading a weft yarn prior to restart of weaving operations of a fluid jet loom. The weft threading system is comprised of a weft winding arm forming part of a weft storage unit, arranged to wind the weft yarn on a drum under relative rotation between the weft winding arm and the drum. The weft winding arm is pipe-shaped so that an air jet is passed therethrough and ejected from its tip end section. The tip end section of the weft winding arm is bent so that the air jet ejected therefrom is directed to a weft guide disposed separate from the weft storage unit and on the upstream side of a weft inserting or main nozzle. The weft guide ejects an air jet in order to suck the weft yarn and project it therefrom, so that the weft yarn from the weft winding arm is automatically passed through the weft guide into the weft inserting nozzle.

  • Patent number: 4596276
Abstract: A weft picking device of an air jet loom, comprises a plurality of air guide members spaced one from the other and in alignment with the direction of weft insertion. Each air guide member is formed with an air guide opening which forms part of a weft guide channel. Additionally, a plurality of auxiliary nozzles are disposed at certain intervals along the weft guide channel. Each auxiliary nozzle is in the shape of a hollow rod and formed at the wall thereof with an air ejection opening. The outer diameter of each auxiliary nozzle is smaller than the thickness of the air guide member. At least an upper part, having the air ejection opening, of the auxiliary nozzle is located between two opposing planes defining the thickness of the air guide member, thereby preventing the warp yarns from rubbing contact with the auxiliary nozzles.

  • Patent number: 4516610
Abstract: An air guide member has therein an air guide opening and a slit through which the weft thread passes out of the opening. The opening has an inwardly projected land portion with first and second peripheral sides and includes an air induction section directly connected to the slit and a weft guiding section connected through the air induction section to the slit. The first peripheral side bounds partially the air induction section, while, the second peripheral side bounds partially the weft guiding section. An auxiliary nozzle is associated with one of the air guide members and has an air jet opening exposed to the air induction section so that the air jet from the opening advances toward the weft guiding section after passing through the air induction section. The opening is inclined toward the weft picking direction by a given angle with respect to the direction.

  • Patent number: 4481982
Abstract: In a jet weaving loom having a frame, a reed holder pivotally movable relative to the frame in the downstream and upstream directions with respect to the motion of the warp threads, a jet nozzle mounted on the reed holder to move therewith and ejecting the weft thread into the shed of the warp threads by the jet action thereof, and a weft gripper secured to the frame for selectively gripping and releasing the weft thread advancing toward the jet nozzle, so that when the reed holder moves in the downstream direction toward a first extreme position, the beating and the weft cutting are carried out, and when the reed holder moves in the upstream direction and comes to a second extreme position, the weft picking is actually carried out, there is provided a weft pull-back device which catches the weft thread extending between the weft gripper and the jet nozzle when the reed holder is positioned in the vicinity of the first extreme position, and holds the same for a predetermined period of time when the reed holde

  • Patent number: 4458731
Abstract: An air distributor construction for auxiliary nozzles of an air jet loom, comprises an air passage which extends along the direction of weft picking and communicates with all the auxiliary nozzles, the air passage being supplied with pressurized air. Additionally, a certain number of sealing members are detachably disposed at certain locations of the air passage to divide the air passage into a certain number of air distribution passages each of which communicates with each group of auxiliary nozzles, thereby constituting an independent air supply system for each group of auxiliary nozzles. Accordingly, the number of auxiliary nozzles corresponding to each air supply system becomes variable.

  • Patent number: 4401139
Abstract: A weft picking device of an air jet loom, comprises a plurality of air guide members in alignment with the direction of weft picking, each air guide member being spaced predetermined distances from adjacent air guide members to define respective spaces therebetween, the air guide members being respectively formed with air guide openings to define a weft guide channel to which a weft yarn from a weft inserting nozzle is inserted, at least one auxiliary nozzle being disposed in a first section of a space between two adjacent air guide members, the space having a second section which is located opposite the first section relative to the axis of the weft guide channel, the width of the second section being less than that of the first section, thereby preventing the weft yarn from getting out of the weft guide channel to effectively accomplish weft picking.
