  • Patent number: 5790364
Abstract: The control system for a linear solenoid valve controls output of an oil pressure according to a current value to be fed to the linear solenoid which operates the linear solenoid valve. A solenoid current monitor detects the current value fed to the linear solenoid and an IG voltage monitor detects the voltage level of the battery. A linear solenoid current value setting unit sets a target current value according to a target oil pressure level and a duty ratio setting unit sets a duty ratio for applying the battery voltage to the linear solenoid on the basis of signals coming from the current monitor, the voltage monitor and the current value setting unit. A solenoid driver applies the battery voltage to the linear solenoid for a predetermined period in accordance with the duty ratio set by the duty ratio setting unit.

  • Patent number: 5773981
Abstract: A short between terminals of a linear solenoid controlled by an electronic control in an automatic transmission is detected by sensing when a PWM duty ratio set by a feedback control operating the linear solenoid is less than a reference duty ratio. The reference duty cycle is calculated to be between a range of expected normal duty ratios in the absence of the short and a range of expected short duty ratios in the presence of the short.

  • Patent number: 5568386
Abstract: A system for automate correction of characteristics of a throttle position sensor includes the throttle position sensor, a memory, a comparator and a correction device. The throttle position sensor detects a voltage corresponding to a throttle position. The memory stores first and second voltages which correspond to respective 0% and 100% throttle position set points. The comparator performs a comparison between the voltage detected by the throttle position sensor and both the first and second voltages stored in the memory.

  • Patent number: 5426727
Abstract: A character generation system, in which multiple operations are performed in parallel to achieve higher-speed processing, includes a circuit for converting character contour data into coordinate axis data, a circuit for generating dot data expressive of the contour from the coordinate axis data, a circuit for sorting the coordinate axis data in a prescribed sequence and a circuit for performing image drawing operations in correspondence with the sorted data. At least two of these circuits include sufficient channels to permit the performance of their designated functions in parallel. The required image drawing time is reduced by a decrease in the required number of accesses to a bit map using a polygon approach to character generation.

  • Patent number: 5160116
Abstract: An electromagnetic valve having a flow passage opened and closed by the drive of an electromagnet. The electromagnetic opertor includes a casing, an electromagnetic coil, a plunger adapted to be driven by the electromagnetic coil, a sleeve for guiding the plunger, a yoke fitted around the sleeve and formed with an axially extending central portion and a notch in its outer circumference, and a push rod fixed to the plunger. The valve portion includes an outer valve body, having an input port and a discharge port, which is fixed to the casing of the electromagnet with a flange fitted over and mating with the raised central portion of the yoke. An inner valve body is mounted in the outer base and has an axial bore for receiving the push rod. A ball is interposed between the outer valve body and the inner valve body for opening or closing the passage of the valve, extending from the input port to the discharge port, by the drive of the push rod.

  • Patent number: 5143345
Abstract: A two-way electromagnet has an input port and a discharge port at opposing ends of a flow passage which is opened or closed by the drive of an electromagnet. The two-way electromagnetic valve operating portion or module includes an electromagnetic coil, a plunger adapted to be driven by the electromagnetic coil, a yoke fitted around a sleeve and a push rod fixed in the plunger. The valve portion or module includes an outer valve body in which the input port and a valve seat are formed, an inner valve body formed with a bore for receiving the leading end of the push rod therethrough and a passage communicating with the discharge port. The valve member is a ball arranged between the valve seat of the outer valve body and the inner valve body. The push rod is moved forward when the electromagnetic coil is deenergized to bring the ball into abutment against the valve seat to thereby close the input port.
