Abstract: A treating agent whose effective ingredient is an anthranyl derivative of the formula: ##STR1## (wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 may be the same or different and represent a hydrogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a lower alkoxy group, preferably C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy group, a lower alkyl group, preferably C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl group, a nitro group or a halogen atom) is disclosed.

Abstract: Benzamide derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom, a methyl group or a methoxy group; R.sub.2 is a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl group having 2 to 8 carbon atoms, a substituted phenyl group, or group --NHR.sub.4, R.sub.4 being a hydrogen atom, a straight-chain or branched-chain or cyclic alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or a phenyl group that may have a substituent on the nucleus; R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom or one or two alkyl groups having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and n is 0 or 1, a process for preparing these derivatives, and pharmaceutical compositions containing the same are provided.The compounds of the above formula have the action to reduce the blood glucose level and, therefore, are useful as medicines.

Abstract: Dibenzoxazepine derivatives of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, n, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are as defined in the description, process for preparing the same, pharmaceutical composition containing the same and method of treating diseases in circulatory organs administering the composition to a patient are disclosed.The compounds of the formula have lipid lowering activity, lipid peroxide lowering activity, blood sugar lowering activity and activity to inhibit the aggregation of platelets, and hence are useful as a medicine.

Abstract: A plant growth regulator containing as an active ingredient one or more compounds represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R, X, Y and Z are defined in the specification is disclosed. The plant growth regulator is effective for a wide variety of plants, particularly for grassy plants. In addition to such activity, the regulator of this invention acts on plants to thicken the foliage and to aid health growth without causing substantial phytotoxicity.

Abstract: Dibenz[b,f][1,4]oxazepine derivatives of the formula ##STR1## (wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; R.sub.2 is a branched lower alkyl group; R.sub.3 is a hydrogen atom, a carboxyl group, a carbamoyl group, a lower alkoxycarbonyl group, or a lower alkoxy group; R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each a lower alkyl group or may, when taken together with a nitrogen atom, form a heterocyclic ring; and A is a lower alkylene group) or salts thereof, a process for preparing the same and pharmaceutical compositions comprising the same are disclosed. The derivatives of the formula above are effective to prevent and treat circulatory diseases, especially angina pectoris, and therefore, useful as medicines.

Abstract: Isonicotinanilide derivatives of the formula ##STR1## (wherein R.sub.1 is a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group; X is a halogen atom or methyl; n is an integer of from 0 to 2; R.sub.2 is phenyl, halo-substituted phenyl or a lower alkyl group; and Q is ##STR2## provided that Q is ##STR3## or --CH.sub.2 --when R.sub.2 is phenyl or halo-substituted phenyl, and Q is ##STR4## when R.sub.2 is a lower alkyl group) a process for preparing the same and a plant growth regulator containing the same are disclosed. The derivatives of the formula above have good activity for regulating the growth of various plants, especially of grassy plants.

Abstract: Dibenz[b,f][1,4]oxazepine derivatives represented by the formula ##STR1## [wherein R.sub.1, n, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are as defined in the specification], and a process for preparing the same are disclosed. The object compounds have excellent serum cholesterol lowering activity, serum lipid lowering activity, blood lipid peroxide lowering activity and anti-aggregation of platelet activity, and therefore are useful as a drug.
