The sensor includes an electrode arrangement having a transmitting electrode, a receiving electrode and a first shielding electrode, which are arranged in a coplanar manner on a plane and can be positioned above or below, adjacent to the fluid channel, wherein the transmitting electrode and the receiving electrode are capacitively coupled in that they each have an adjacently arranged edge having a dielectric therebetween.
