  • Publication number: 20230380662
Abstract: A method is provided for controlling a tip velocity of an articulating flexible endoscope. The method comprises: generating a command to move a tip of an elongated member of the articulating flexible endoscope at an expected velocity; receiving sensor data acquired by a sensor disposed at a distal tip portion of the elongated member to calculate a tip velocity; calculate a disparity between the expected velocity and the tip velocity; and controlling the tip velocity based on the disparity.

  • Patent number: 11698522
Abstract: An illuminator including a receptacle for connecting a light cable to an illuminator. The receptacle includes a clamp assembly having a plurality of clamping jaws that are moveable from an open configuration in which a connecter of the light cable can be positioned between the clamping jaws for receiving light traveling in a light pathway in the illuminator to a closed configuration in which the clamping jaws completely block the light pathway, and a clutch that is movable between an engaged position for holding the clamping jaws in the open configuration and a disengaged position for allowing the clamping jaws to move to a gripped configuration and to the closed configuration, the clutch can be pushed by the connector when the connector is positioned between the clamping jaws to move the clutch out of the engaged position so that the clamp assembly moves the clamping jaws to the gripped configuration.

  • Patent number: 10639485
Abstract: An operating-room cable-assembly for an electrical-stimulation system includes a lead connector with a lead passageway defined in a housing. Contacts disposed in the housing engage terminals of a lead when the lead is operationally-inserted into the lead passageway. A first biased tab is disposed in a first tab lumen defined in the housing. The first biased tab has a first end exposed to an outer surface of the housing and an opposing second end exposed to the lead passageway. The first biased tab moves to an unlock position and is biased to return to a lock position. When in the lock position, the first biased tab is biased to exert a force against an inserted lead sufficient to resist axial movement of the lead relative to the lead connector.

  • Publication number: 20160101266
Abstract: A medical instrument clamp for removably securing an elongated medical instrument within a housing to be conductively connected to a conduit. The present invention generally includes a housing having a first opening at its first end and a second opening at its second end. The first opening leads to a first channel adapted to receive an elongated medical instrument such as a catheter guide wire. The second opening leads to a second channel adapted to receive a conduit such as a connection conduit for a medical device. A contact internal to the housing is positioned between the first and second channels to conductively connect the medical instrument with the conduit. A pair of arms and clamp are included which may be transitioned to open or close in response to manipulation of a knob. By closing the arms and clamp, the medical instrument may be removably secured within the first channel.
