  • Patent number: 11856598
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless devices may support a prediction capability for prediction-based control information. A first device may receive, from a second device, first control signaling that activates the predication capability of the first device to generate a set of one or more control parameters for communications. The second device may transmit second control signaling to the first device to indicate initial values of the control parameters and a channel condition model for the first device. The first device and the second device may generate a set of multiple values associated with the control parameters over a time period based on the initial values of the control parameters and the channel condition model. The first device and the second device may communicate during at least the time period according to the set of generated values associated with the control parameters.

  • Patent number: 11855746
Abstract: Aspects presented herein may improve the precision and performance of a TDOA-based UE positioning scheme that is associated with an NTN. In one aspect, a UE receives, from a first satellite, a first PRS at a first reception time. The UE receives, from a second satellite, a second PRS at a second reception time and an indication of a transmission-reception time difference, the transmission-reception time difference being a difference between a time the second satellite transmits the second PRS to the UE and a time the second satellite receives an RS from the first satellite. The UE calculates an RSTD for the first PRS and the second PRS based at least in part on the first reception time of the first PRS, the second reception time of the second PRS, and the transmission-reception time difference.

  • Patent number: 11855826
Abstract: Example implementations include a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium of wireless communication for applying resource element (RE) skipping to a symbol where a beam change is to occur. A transmitter and a receiver determine that a beam change is to occur during the symbol. The transmitter allocates bits to a subset of REs for the symbol in a frequency domain allocation. Each RE of the subset is spaced apart by a number of empty REs. The transmitter performs an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) on the REs to generate a time domain signal including a number of repetitions of a transmitted waveform. The receiver receives the time domain signal during at least a portion of the symbol. The receiver performs a fast Fourier transform (FFT) on the time domain signal and determines transmitted bits or a channel from the subset of REs output from the FFT.

  • Patent number: 11825457
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) communication in a first dynamic control resource set (CORESET) configured in a first bandwidth part (BWP). The PDCCH communication may indicate a BWP switch from the first BWP to a second BWP. The UE may determine, based at least in part on the BWP switch, whether to monitor one or more second dynamic CORESETs, subsequent to the first dynamic CORESET, that were configured in the first BWP. The UE may selectively monitor the one or more second dynamic CORESETs based at least in part on determining whether to monitor the one or more second dynamic CORESETs. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11818790
Abstract: A node may forward, from a base station to a first UE, or from the first UE to the base station, one or more wireless signals. The node may identify an indication to stop signal forwarding to the first UE. The indication may be based on a level of an interference to a second UE associated with the signal forwarding to the first UE being greater than a first threshold. The level of the interference to the second UE may be based on a path gain difference or a signal strength at the first UE associated with the signal forwarding to the first UE. The signal strength at the first UE associated with the signal forwarding to the first UE may correspond to an RSRP at the first UE. The node may stop the signal forwarding to the first UE based on the indication.

  • Publication number: 20230341562
Abstract: Techniques are described for supporting user equipment (UE) positioning in a non-terrestrial network (NTN). To allow calculating a position/location of a UE based on reference signal (RS) measurements to and from one satellite (or a terrestrial base station), a device may be configured to calculate a doppler measurement and a range measurement and report such measurements to be used by a location server to calculate a UE position. An example device may receive a first RS (with the first RS being one of a positioning reference signal (PRS) or a sounding reference signal (SRS)), receive a second RS associated with the first RS, calculate a doppler measurement based on one or both of the first RS or the second RS, and report the doppler measurement. The doppler measurement (such as a measured frequency offset) may be used by a location server to calculate a UE position on the earth surface.

  • Publication number: 20230291468
Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for wireless communications performed at a network entity. For example, the systems and techniques can include obtaining, at the network entity, a target relative time difference (RTD). A transmission timing pre-compensation can be determined at the network entity between a first reference signal and a second reference signal, wherein the transmission timing pre-compensation is determined based on the target RTD and one or more network delay components. The first reference signal and the second reference signal can be transmitted using the transmission timing pre-compensation to offset the first reference signal from the second reference signal by the target RTD.

  • Publication number: 20230283336
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to utilizing an intelligent reflecting surface (IRS), a tracking algorithm, or both, to receive, calibrate, and maintain orbital angular momentum (OAM) signaling between wireless devices. The present disclosure describes a first wireless device transmitting spatial-multiple input-multiple output (MIMO) beams to the IRS such that reflected waves from the IRS form a spatial mixture of OAM modes. The IRS may reflect such OAM modes to a second wireless device for subsequent reflection (e.g., a second IRS), reception, calibration, and optimization. For example, the second wireless device may perform pattern recognition of the concentric OAM modes (e.g., by estimating ellipse geometry) to determine the modes of the OAM signaling. The second wireless device may also perform decorrelation, where small perturbations to the elliptical OAM geometry allow the second wireless device to perform one or more optimization techniques related to the OAM signaling.
