  • Patent number: 10988262
Abstract: A pressure control system includes an overboard valve in indirect communication with a first enclosed environment and in direct communication with a second enclosed environment. The first environment is suitable for human occupancy and configured to receive pressurized air from an environmental control system. The second environment is configured to receive the pressurized air from the first environment. An inboard valve is configured to supply a discharge of pressurized air from the second environment. An outflow valve is configured to regulate a discharge of air from the first environment to an area outside the first and second environments. A positive pressure relief valve configured to regulate a discharge of air from the first environment. A negative pressure relief valve configured to regulate an ingress of air into the first environment. A control valve is configured to regulator and supply pressurized air from the first environment to a compressor.

  • Patent number: 8961881
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for the production of a secure supply of breathable air are important under conditions where threats from chemical and biological weapons may be present. A method and a multi-stage CATOX system for producing a purified air flow from ambient air which may have nitrogen containing toxicants is provided. The multi-stage CATOX system has a first stage and second stage, at least one of the first or the second stage has a first catalytic heat exchanger with a cold side supporting a first catalyst and a hot side configured to transfer heat therefrom to the first catalyst.

  • Publication number: 20110146492
Abstract: Hollow fiber membranes, such as those used in air separation modules, are generally made from solution spinning. Typically, solvent is present in the bore of the fiber for the spinning process. This solvent, in addition to the solvent already present in the polymer dope solution, may cause voids in the fiber material. By adding citric acid to the polymer dope material, these voids may be reduced or eliminated.
