  • Patent number: 6658263
Abstract: A system and method effectively combines communications of the base stations of multiple wireless systems on the same antenna structure. In one implementation, a wireless system combiner serves as an interface between base stations of first and second wireless systems (“first base station” and “second base station”) and a shared antenna to substantially eliminate spurious noise from the first base station at frequencies allocated to the second base station and prevent transmit power from the first base station from feeding into the reception circuitry of the second base station in a shared antenna configuration. The combiner includes a first combiner filter between a duplexer of the first base station and a common connection point and a second combiner filter between a duplexer of the second base station and the common connection point.

  • Patent number: 6392511
Abstract: An impedance selector includes an input port receiving input signals. An outer conductor electrically communicates with the input port. A dielectric material is encircled by the outer conductor. An inner conductive core is encircled by the outer conductor and electrically communicates with the input port. An output port electrically communicates with the input port via the outer conductor and the inner core. A characteristic impedance of the outer conductor and the inner core is selectively set as a function of a minimum distance between the inner core and the outer conductor.

  • Patent number: 6356852
Abstract: A multi-port programmable analog tester for testing an analog device having more than two test ports includes a two-port network analyzer having two network analyzer ports and an interface device coupled to the network analyzer. The interface device has at least two levels of switches, and is adapted to be coupled to the test ports of the analog device.

  • Patent number: 6323742
Abstract: An impedance transforming device includes a first port capable of receiving first signals. A first switching device is electrically connected to the first port. The first switching device is electrically and dynamically connected to an input of one of at least two impedance transforming devices. A second switching device is electrically and dynamically connected to an output of the impedance transforming device. A second port, electrically connected to the second switching device, is capable of outputting second signals. The impedance transforming device is determined at least as a function of respective impedance transformations of the impedance transforming devices.

  • Patent number: 6292053
Abstract: An antenna system includes a splitter, which receives a splitter input signal and produces a plurality of splitter output signals. A plurality of amplifiers receive respective ones of the splitter output signals and produce respective amplified outputs. A combiner transforms a plurality of the amplified outputs to an antenna signal. An antenna receives and transmits the antenna signal. A power of the antenna signal is a function of a number of the amplified outputs communicating with the combiner.

  • Patent number: 6094097
Abstract: A programmable combiner including a first terminal providing a radio frequency input signal, a second terminal providing a radio frequency output signal, a plurality of linear amplifiers in connection therebetween, and switch means coupling individual ones of the plurality of amplifiers in series connection between the first and second terminals in providing a redundancy of continuing circuit operation upon the failure of any one or more amplifiers, and in providing a controllable level of output signal at the second terminal as gain characteristics of one or more of the amplifiers vary, or as different output power signal levels are required.
