    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for using a Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) agent to provide adaptive tuning of process controllers, such as Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers. The agent can monitor process controller performance, and if unsatisfactory, can attempt to improve it by making incremental changes to the tuning parameters for the process controller. The effect of a tuning change can then be observed by the agent and used to update the agent's process controller tuning policy. It has been unexpectedly discovered that providing adaptive tuning based on incremental changes in tuning parameters, as opposed to making changes independent of current values of the tuning parameters, can provide enhanced or improved control over a controlled variable of a process.

    Abstract: Cap for a threaded neck beverage container. The cap is based on a rotating ball design and functions as a valve. The ball is embedded in a cylindrical hollow body configured to screw onto the neck of the beverage bottle. The top part of the hollow body will have a hemispherical central depression configured to hold the rotating ball in place, while allowing the ball to rotate about its axis (here two oppositely disposed pivot shafts). In one ball pivot angle, the ball's central fluid passage will be disposed above a body fluid so that fluids from the beverage container may travel through the body fluid port, up through the central opening, and often into the mouth of a user. At other ball pivot angles, the surface of the ball passes over the body fluid port, thus substantially preventing fluids from the beverage container from exiting the container.

    Abstract: Automatic identification and authentication of a user of a mobile application entails receiving from the wireless communications device a unique device identifier and an e-mail address corresponding to the wireless communications device, associating a registration identifier with the unique device identifier and the e-mail address, generating an authentication token, and communicating the authentication token and the registration identifier to the wireless communications device. This technology obviates the need for the user to remember and enter a user ID and password to access backed-up application data on a server. This is particularly useful for instant messaging applications, e.g. PIN messaging, in which the unique device identifier is used to identify the user and is also the transport address. Once registered, the user who has switched to a new device or has wiped his existing device, can restore contacts or other application data from the server based on the registration identifier.

To maintain a common copy of the shared data at each device, any update is sent to all group members using an intermediate message exchange service that is capable of transmitting a sent message to more than one recipient if necessary. In this way, the updates are multicast to the group. To manage the content of the shared data, each update comprises one or more changes to a current copy of a corresponding record.
