  • Patent number: 6144998
Abstract: A subscriber system (10) includes a dual network interface module (12). The dual network interface module (12) includes slots for a video unit (20) and a bandwidth unit (22). The video unit (20) receives broadcast information from a service provider (24) for ultimate display and viewing by a subscriber at the subscriber system (10). The bandwidth unit (22) provides an interface to a telecommunications network (30) through a telecommunications element (28). The dual network interface module (12) also includes an AC carrier modem (32) that receives and sends information to a processor device (34) over existing AC power lines within the subscriber system (10). In this manner, interactive interfacing of broadcast information received at the video unit (20) can be performed at the processor device (34) through the bandwidth unit (22) and over the telecommunications network (30) on a real time basis.

  • Patent number: 6129434
Abstract: A support structure for an electronic enclosure includes a base having a top wall, a bottom wall which is spaced apart from the top wall, a pair of spaced apart end walls disposed between the top and bottom walls, and a pair of spaced apart side walls disposed between the top and bottom walls. The walls are integrally attached and are disposed to form a hollow chamber. The top wall includes an aperture communicating with the chamber. Ballast is disposed within the chamber and is adapted to be inserted into the chamber through the top wall aperture. The base may be formed of rotationally molded plastic material.

  • Patent number: 6084762
Abstract: A telecommunications network (10) includes a main distribution frame (12) that receives telecommunications traffic carried over individual tip and ring signal line pairs (20) from trunks (18). The main distribution frame (12) provides the individual tip and ring signal line pairs (20) to a protector block (14). The protector block (14) includes a connector (22) for each individual tip and ring signal line pair (20). The connector (22) has a first terminal (24) that provides external access to low frequency voice band telecommunications traffic for POTS providers. The connector (22) has a second terminal (26) that provides external access to high frequency telecommunications traffic, such as ADSL for ADSL providers. The external access capability allows for the unbundling of physical connections at the main distribution frame (12) in order to provide competitive access to subscribers.

  • Patent number: 6039414
Abstract: A modular enclosure includes multiple interlocking molded plastic components and panels to form an exterior structure for the enclosure. The exterior structure provides a protective and aesthetic housing which encloses and covers an interior enclosure housing electronic and mechanical equipment. The exterior interlocking components may be fabricated of plastic utilizing rotationally molding techniques to provide a hollow wall design resulting in structural rigidity and strength to the various external parts and components of the enclosure. The modularity of the present enclosure allows for easy replacement of exterior components without affecting operation of the equipment housed inside the enclosure.
