  • Patent number: 10838344
Abstract: Certain examples described herein relate to splice detection. In certain cases, a splice is detected in a web being conveyed towards a transfer member of the printing system. In certain cases, a print frame is identified from a sequence of pending print frames using successive repeat lengths of the sequence and a distance of the splice from the transfer member. The identified print frame is to be transferred from the transfer member across the splice. In certain cases, writing of the identified print frame onto a photo-imaging plate of the printing system is deferred. In certain examples, the web is disengaged from the transfer member following transfer of an image of a print frame preceding the identified print frame. The web is re-engaged with the transfer member so as to transfer an image of the identified print frame to the web from the transfer member after the splice is conveyed beyond the transfer member.

  • Patent number: 10789602
Abstract: The present invention describes a community based computerized method and system which automatically gathers, acquires and collects students' usage data in a dynamic knowledge base as they perform their routine learning assignments from any educational source (e.g. printed textbooks, e-textbook etc.), for the purpose of assessing their achievements, competencies, areas of interest, preferences and requirements, and then providing automatically generated students-related information and services which are based on this knowledge, such as custom study guides, preparation plans for exams and academic skills assessment reports. The system also provides insights, trends and behavioral patterns within students' groups, which are identified and deduced from actual activities of users, such as learning habits, areas of interest, and demand for new and existing educational learning sources.

  • Publication number: 20190147003
Abstract: Disclosed are various embodiments for dynamically generating a search set for use in a search application, such as a search engine, and using the search set to navigate collections of archived content. A request for user interface data is received from a client device in response to the client device attempting to access a domain. The domain may be parsed to identify a search category corresponding to one of the categories stored in a data store. Subcategories and search collections that are associated with the search category are identified and user interface data may be generated that cause at least a portion of the subcategories and search collections associated with a search component to be rendered in a display of the client device. The search component is configured to use a selected one of the at least a portion of the subcategories to narrow a search conducted using the search component by generating a narrowing search query.

  • Publication number: 20160354659
Abstract: A hockey stick assembly has an elongate rubbery damping material installed within a hollow stick shaft. The insert may be formed with one end that has, or may have a cap or socket mounted at one end that has, an indexing member for locating the elongate material within the hollow shaft. The cap or socket or end may include a widened portion, and may include projections or a peripherally extending flange for engaging the butt end. A cap may be placed over the end of the stick once the insert has been installed. The insert may be removable. It may be a high density rubber or rubber-like polymer that may tend not to rattle. The insert may have constant thickness, and be formed to define a plug and stopper at one end. The other end is trimmed to length and slid into a loose fit within the shaft.
