  • Publication number: 20110009792
Abstract: Two “U-Shaped” or “V-Shaped” or slit plasters/adhesive tape to be placed opposite one another over a pad placed around the extruding object from the skin to completely surround the extruding object and adhere the pad securely at the exit site. The pad is placed around the extruding object at the exit site. The adhesive tape is adhered to affix the pad to the skin so that the extruding member reaches the bottom of the “U” or the “V” or the slit as closely as possible. The adhesive tape is placed opposite the tape to affix the rest of the pad to the skin, so that the extruding member touches the bottom of the “U” or the “V” or the slit of this adhesive as closely as possible.

  • Patent number: 6780195
Abstract: An instrument for clamping and cutting a deformable flexible tube includes handles and jaws pivotally coupled together on opposite sides of a pivot member, a fixed cutting blade on the jaws, integrally hinged lockable V-clamps with ratcheted inner gripping surfaces mounted in the jaws with the edge of the cutting blade positioned above the ratcheted surfaces of the V-clamps, and a device to push the V-clamp axially forward in the jaws. When the handles are pressed together to an intermediate position, the jaws are closed only partially locking the arms of the V-clamps while leaving the edge of the cutting blade distanced from the center of the clamp and from the tube, and when the handles are pressed further to a cutting position, the locked V-clamp is pushed forward in the jaws simultaneously closing the jaws completely and bringing down the cutting blade.

  • Patent number: 6624198
Abstract: A prophylactic spermicidal lubricant composition and method for its use in safe sexual relations, including prevention of infection by HIV and other viruses. The composition contains: a) a cosmetically acceptable lubricant effective to reduce friction, thereby reducing the rupture of blood vessels during sexual relations; b) an effective amount of chlorhexidine salt active against HIV and other, viruses, the chlorhexidine salt immobilizing sperm and reacting with vaginal mucosa to form a barrier to the penetration of sperm calls into the uterus, but also destroying natural flora in the vagina and thereby permitting growth of fungi which causes ulceration; and c) an effective amount of a cosmetically acceptable fungicide to prevent the growth of fungi in the vagina in the absence of natural bacterial flora, destroyed by the chlorhexidine salt.

  • Patent number: 5019091
Abstract: A method for making molded plastic forceps comprising two opposing elongate arms joined together at one end thereof including the steps of assembling a three-part mold consisting of a first part substantially in the plane of the first arm of the forceps, a second part substantially in the plane of the second arm of the forceps, and a third part between the two arms and defining thereon the construction of the inner surface of the forceps, for example, on one side thereof a mold for a male engagement element and on the other side thereof a mold for a non-apertured female engagement element, injecting a plastics material into the mold, waiting until the plastics material has cooled and contracted, opening the mold by moving first the first part and then the third part, whereby the forceps remains in engagement with the third part, and removing the forceps from the third part by pressing the inside of the joined end away from the mold. The invention also relates to forceps made by this method.
