  • Publication number: 20130052301
Abstract: A chewing gum base which is cud-forming and chewable at mouth temperature contains a food acceptable tri-block copolymer having the form A-B-A or A-B-C and comprising a soft mid-block which constitutes at least 30 wt. % of the total polymer and hard end-blocks each having a glass transition temperature below 70° C. The tri-block copolymer is optionally plasticized with a compatible di-block copolymer to function as an elastomer system in the gum base.

  • Publication number: 20130022708
Abstract: A gum base, which when formulated into a chewing gum provides a gum cud removable from concrete and cement surfaces, contains 3 to 30 wt. % elastomer, 0 to 32 wt. % elastomer solvent and 0 to 8% paraffin wax and has a polarity index of less than 2.00 MPa½ and chewing gums containing the gum base.

  • Publication number: 20120237632
Abstract: A chewing gum, when chewed, produces a cud having improved removability from environmental surfaces by virtue of its extensional viscosity strain hardening parameter. Specifically, the cud has a extensional strain hardening parameter of less than zero or greater than 2.0.

  • Publication number: 20110123672
Abstract: The present invention provides gum bases and chewing gums, as well as methods of manufacturing the gum bases. More specifically, the gum bases provided herein contain microparticles comprising a crosslinked polymer. The microparticles render a gum cud comprising the gum base more easily removable from surfaces onto which it may become adhered than gum cuds comprising conventional gum bases.

  • Publication number: 20110104238
Abstract: A chewing gum is provided in the present disclosure. In an embodiment, the chewing gum comprises at least one wettable filler wherein the wettable filler aids in producing an increasing release of one or more hydrophilic additives. In another embodiment, the chewing gum comprises a wettable filler having a ?? in a range of at least 15.0 mJ/m2 to about 65.0 mJ/m2, wherein the wettable filler aids in increasing the release of at least one hydrophilic additive. A method for increasing the release of one or more hydrophilic additives in a chewing gum composition is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20100291162
Abstract: This invention generally relates to oral compositions (e.g., a confection or chewing gum product such as a compressed chewing gum) effective for removal of stains from a tooth surface. In particular, this invention relates to oral compositions including a coated or an encapsulated protease enzyme to provide an oral composition effective for tooth stain removal.

  • Publication number: 20080145477
Abstract: A chewing gum comprises a primary chewing gum composition comprising gum base, a sweetener and a flavoring agent and a food acceptable delayed-release modification agent. The delayed-release modification agent reacts with the primary chewing gum composition after a chewed cud of the gum composition is formed, causing the primary gum to exhibit increased environmental acceptability after the chewed cud is discarded.
