  • Publication number: 20090169411
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a penetrator (10) from a tungsten heavy metal with a high fraction of tungsten and an outer sheath (7), which consists of a material that is more ductile in relation to the penetrator core (6). To produce a penetrator (10) of this type in a cost-effective manner, according to the invention a twin-hopper filling device, which corresponds to the dimensions of the penetrator core (6), is introduced concentrically into a compression mould (1) that corresponds to the outer dimensions of the penetrator (10). The inner pipe (3) is filled with a first tungsten powder blend with a high fraction of tungsten for producing the penetrator core (6), whilst the annular gap between the outer wall of the inner pipe and the inner wall of the compression mould (1) is filled with a second tungsten powder blend with a lower fraction of tungsten, (approximately between 85% and 91%), than the first powder blend.

  • Publication number: 20080175689
Abstract: A fastener for attaching siding to the wall of a building comprises a nail having a head and a shank and a cup shaped washer. The cup shaped washer has an internal cavity that is larger than the head of the nail so that when the nail is driven into the building through the nail flange of the siding, the head of the nail cannot be forced against the siding This provides clearance between the fastener and the siding allowing the siding to expand and contract as needed.

  • Publication number: 20080134609
Abstract: A vent is formed from vent panels that can be formed by injection molding or vacuum forming. The vent panels include upper and lower edges. The upper edge includes a nailing flange and a channel. The channel is coplanar with the outer surface of a nailing flange. The lower edge is a linear flange adapted to fit within the channel of the next adjacent vent panel. The vent includes a lower trim member that has a flange and a channel coplanar with the upper surface of the flange and adapted to receive the bottom edge of a vent panel. The lower trim member is designed to attach to the upper edge of vinyl siding. J channels or T channels are used then to trim out the remaining portion of the vent. This allows one to form a custom vent by combining vent panels as desired.

  • Publication number: 20080083687
Abstract: A collapsible foldable rack includes left and right scissors-type frames with dowel rods extending between the scissors-type frames. The dowel rods are attached to inner arms of the scissors-type frame by brackets that allow the rods to rotate relative to the frame. The brackets on one side of the frame allow the rods to rotate in one direction, whereas the brackets on the opposite frame member allow the rods to rotate in the opposite direction. The brackets also space the rods relative to each other to prevent adjacent rods from interfering with each other when the structure is folded. The device both collapses into a rectangular structure and then folds upon itself to provide a very compact structure for storage and reduce freight costs.

  • Publication number: 20070256372
Abstract: A vent is formed from vent panels which are configured with one or more slats. The custom-sized gable vent is formed by cutting sections of the slatted vent panel. The sections of slatted vent panel interfit to provide the desired height of the vent. Trim channel is cut and sized to surround the vent. The structure is assembled by fastening the individual components to the wall of a building. The trim channels can be either J channel, when the vent is intended to abut another surface, or T channel, when vinyl siding abuts the vent. This provides the builder the flexibility to form a gable vent of a desired size and shape at the job site. Further, the slatted vent panels are designed to connect directly to siding. This allows the slatted vent panels to be attached to the wall of a building in the same manner as siding.

  • Publication number: 20070205305
Abstract: A container for a paint spray system includes a filter which is sonically welded to a base of the container. The filter includes an annular rim that fits within a recessed portion of the cup surrounding the outlet opening of the cup. This is adapted to be attached to a paint sprayer, allowing quick interchange of coating materials and further insuring that all of the paint will flow through the filter for use.

  • Publication number: 20070193197
Abstract: Brackets are provided to attach a trim item having a nailing flange to an exterior wall of a building. The brackets have a generally planar profile formed from two elongated strips attached along a fold line. The brackets are attached to adjacent studs of an exterior wall with a nail flange of the trim item fixed between the elongated strips of the bracket. Siding is then applied over the brackets and the nailing flange to conceal both the bracket and the nailing flange of the trim item.

  • Publication number: 20050247009
Abstract: A trim unit for a hose faucet includes a base unit which attached to the wall of a building and surrounds the water pipe to which the faucet is attached. A trim ring then attaches to the base unit. In order to reduce air infiltration and freezing of the pipe during the winter, an insulated cover is adapted to attach to the trim unit.

  • Patent number: 6769364
Abstract: A full-caliber projectile having a cylindrical guide region (5) and an ogival projectile tip (7). To improve the stabilization of the projectile (1) inside a gun barrel (2) in a simple manner, and therefore improve the intermediate ballistics and hit accuracy over those of comparable projectiles, a guide ring (8), which is segmented in the circumferential direction, and whose outer diameter is smaller than the inner diameter of a gun barrel (2) of the same caliber, is secured to the projectile tip (7) such that the radially spaced guide-ring segments (9) detach from the projectile (1) in the gun barrel (2) when a predetermined firing acceleration occurs in the gun barrel, and the segments (9) are pushed toward the projectile (1), axially relative to the cylindrical guide region (5), by dynamic pressure until they rest against the inside wall (18) of the gun barrel (2) and against the projectile (1).

  • Patent number: 6682415
Abstract: A replacement dryer vent for remodelers includes a typical exterior vent portion and an interior tube portion. The tube portion extends into the building and has an internal diameter that increases towards its innermost edge, i.e., toward the interior of the building. The extension is designed to slip over an existing cylindrical duct already in a wall. This allows one to replace an existing dryer vent by simply removing the exterior vent portion and leaving the duct work in position. The new vent is simply inserted in the existing hole with the tube slipping over the duct making a tight connection.
