  • Publication number: 20230165589
Abstract: An occlusion device having a support structure and an expandable occlusion element associated with the support structure. The expandable occlusion element is formed of a self-expanding material, such as a hydrogel. A retainer may be provided to hold the expandable occlusion element with respect to the support structure of the occlusion device, within or outside the support structure, and positioned such that expansion of the expandable occlusion element occludes a lumen through the support structure and the occlusion device. Expansion of the expandable occlusion element may be reversible, or the expandable occlusion element may be releasable from the support structure.

  • Publication number: 20230083860
Abstract: Systems and methods for building passive and active electronics with diamond-like carbon (DLC) coatings are provided herein. DLC may be layered upon substrates to form various components of electronic devices. Passive components such as resistors, capacitors, and inductors may be built using DLC as a dielectric or as an insulating layer. Active components such as diodes and transistors may be built with the DLC acting substantially like a semiconductor. The amount of sp2 and sp3 bonded carbon atoms may be varied to modify the properties of the DLC for various electronic components.

  • Publication number: 20220361865
Abstract: Medical devices and methods for making and using medical devices are disclosed. An example medical device may include an access valve that may be retrieved after implantation. The access valve may include a frame having a lumen, a self-expandable member extending through the lumen, and an elastic membrane extending through the lumen and a second end of the frame to releasably seal the lumen. The access valve may releasably attach to a wall of a patient and releasably seal an opening through the wall. The access valve may be attached to the wall by placing the frame adjacent the wall, extending the self-expandable member through the opening in the wall, and expanding the self-expandable member such that the self-expandable member applies a first force against the wall and a second force opposite the first force against the frame to sandwich the wall between the self-expandable member and the frame.

  • Publication number: 20220354645
Abstract: The disclosure relates to transcatheter stented prosthesis delivery devices including a handle assembly connected to a shaft assembly on which a stented prosthesis is loaded and compressively retained with a plurality of elongate tension members. The delivery devices include a cutting assembly that can sever the elongate tension members after the stented prosthesis is expanded at a target site so that the delivery device can be withdrawn from the patient. Certain embodiments position the cutting assembly at least within the shaft assembly and others position the cutting assembly over the shaft assembly. Various disclosed cutting assemblies are actuated with the handle assembly or the like, which draw the tension members across the blade or vice versa.
