  • Publication number: 20050132116
Abstract: An electronic device having a MultiMediaCard host connected to a MultiMediaCard card via a bus system having a plurality of signal lines and a plurality of data lines, wherein the host is operable in a number of data modes. At least in one of the data modes the number of data lines used to convey data between the host and card is smaller than the number of data lines available on the bus system, leaving some unused data lines. An embedded module in the card is used to generate a clock signal, a command signal and further data to be conveyed between the host and the card on some or all of the unused data lines. When the electronic device is operable in an SPI mode, the CS line can be used for sending a command signal from the card to the host.

  • Publication number: 20050111490
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus to control data and command flow over a physical communications channel between a transmitter and a receiver, and more specifically to provide a protocol for a point-to-point serial bus architecture with low latency time for flow control and other signaling, regardless of the length of the data packet frame. The abstract data flow control protocol can be employed by various buses as it interacts only with the lowest protocol layers. Separate buffers for data and control can be used to allow the bus to be compatible with slower buses also to support additional control functions without involving a higher protocol layer.

  • Publication number: 20040266480
Abstract: A system, apparatus and method for incorporating sensor functionality into mobile communication devices having a host process and employing at least one memory, such as a removable memory card. Access to the removable memory card by the host process is facilitated using a digital interface, and storing sensor data from one or more sensor modules into a local memory. The host process of the mobile communication device is coupled to the local memory via the digital interface which is used by the host process to access the removable memory card. The sensor data may then be accessed from the local memory by the host process via the digital interface.

  • Patent number: 6676871
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for producing a microporous film with strong isotropic tendency permeable to gases and impermeable to aqueous liquids, consisting of at least one layer, comprising the following successive steps: preparing a mixture consisting of a polyolefin matrix containing at least a polymer and at least a mineral and/or organic filler; extruding at least a ply by hot-casting the mixture; pre-stretching the ply with a drag roll; cooling and solidifying the pre-stretched ply, using the drag roll; drawing the solidified ply at sufficient temperature for forming the microporous film.
