  • Patent number: 11149882
Abstract: A threaded connection includes a pin including a wedge male thread having a varying-thread-width portion and a box including a wedge female thread having a varying-thread-width portion. The threaded connection is constructed such that, when both stab flanks and load flanks of the male thread of the pin contact the box, the shoulder on the pin is not in contact with the shoulder on the pin, and, with a further rotation in the make-up direction, the shoulder on the pin is capable of contacting the shoulder on the pin before the threads (i.e. male and female threads) yield.

  • Publication number: 20210231240
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a threaded connection that has high torque and still requires reduced machining time for the thread. A threaded connection (1) connects a pair of pipes. The threaded connection (1) includes a pin (10) and a box (20). The pin (10) has a male thread (11) on its outer diameter. The box (20) has a female thread (21) on its inner diameter, the female thread corresponding to the male thread (11). The box (20) and the pin (10) are made up. The male thread (11) includes a constant-thread-width portion (111) and a varying-thread-width portion (112). The constant-thread-width portion (111) has a constant thread-groove width. The varying-thread-width portion (112) has a thread-groove width equal to or larger than the groove width of the constant-thread-width portion (111) and gradually increasing, going from the constant-thread-width portion (111) toward the tip of the pin (10).

  • Patent number: 11067205
Abstract: A threaded connection for steel pipe is provided that prevents cross-threading and provides good compression load resistance. A threaded connection (10) includes a pin (30) and a box (40). The male thread stabbing flank (34) of the pin (30) includes two male thread stabbing flank portions (341) and (342). The male thread stabbing flank portion (341) is located farther from the pipe axis (X) of the steel pipe (20) and has a stabbing flank angle (?1) of ?10 to 15 degrees. The male thread stabbing flank portion (342) is located closer to the pipe axis (X) and has a stabbing flank angle (?2) of 20 to 60 degrees. The female thread stabbing flank (44) of the box (40) includes two female thread stabbing flank portions (441) and (442). The female thread stabbing flank portion (441) is located farther from the pipe axis (X) and has a stabbing flank angle (?1) equal to the stabbing flank angle (?1) of the male thread stabbing flank portion (341).

  • Patent number: 7823931
Abstract: A tubular threaded joint which has excellent resistance to compression and which permits easy tightening operation in the field in a vertical state comprises a pin having a male threaded zone and a box having a female threaded zone. The pin or the box has an end shoulder surface on its end, and the other member has a shoulder surface which abuts against the end shoulder surface. The screw threads of the male threaded zone and the female threaded zone are trapezoidal threads having a crest, a load flank, and a stabbing flank. The lip length, which is the distance in the axial direction of a member having an end shoulder surface between the end shoulder surface and the closest engaged thread to that surface, is at least 140 times the stabbing flank clearance, which is the distance in the axial direction between the stabbing flanks of the male thread and the female thread when the load flanks of the male and female threads contact each other. The stabbing flank of the male thread is preferably chamfered.
