  • Patent number: 8801114
Abstract: A signal indicating an estimated body deceleration and a deceleration indicated by a detection signal from a G sensor are pass through first and second filters having different filter constants. Based on a resulting difference in response speeds thereof, it is determined whether sudden braking, i.e., quick depression, is being performed. If quick depression is determined, then even if an upper limit of a W/C pressure to rear wheels is set in order to prevent rear wheel locking precedent to front wheel locking, the W/C pressure is increased so as to exceed such an upper limit. Thus, a greater deceleration can be achieved than when the W/C pressure at the set upper limit is generated.

  • Patent number: 4842343
Abstract: Control system for controlling an anti-lock braking system having a brake for a wheel of a motor vehicle, wherein a skidding or locking condition of the wheel is detected by a detector based on a running condition of the vehicle and a rotating condition of the wheel, and a slip ratio of the vehicle is maintained within an optimum range by a pressure-regulating device, by increasing, decreasing and holding a brake fluid pressure applied to the brake, in response to the detected locking condition of the wheel. A predetermined pressure-decrease time during which the fluid pressure is decreased is measured by a measuring device, and a deceleration rate of a rotating speed of the wheel when the pressure-decrease time has elapsed is detected by a detecting device. A device is provided for determining an extension time during which the fluid pressure is further decreased, such that the extension time increases with the detected deceleration rate of the wheel.

  • Patent number: 4824183
Abstract: A dual-circuit hydraulic anti-lock braking system for an automotive vehicle having a first and a second group of wheels, including (a) a dual-circuit hydraulic braking device including a first and a second brake circuit which are independent of each other, (b) a wheel rotating condition detecting device; (c) a vehicle running condition detecting device; (d) a regulating device for regulating each of a first and second braking pressures transmitted by the first and second brake circuits, respectively, by decreasing or increasing the braking pressure for a duration of time, when the detected rotating condition of at least one wheel of each of the first and second wheel groups is brought into a predetermined relationship with the detected running condition of the vehicle so as to apply the regulated pressure to a brake cylinder associated with the wheel whose detected rotating condition is brought into the predetermined relationship with the detected running condition of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4763960
Abstract: An antiskid type brake system for vehicles including brakes, actuators, rotation sensors for monitoring the speeds of rotation of wheels, a controller, fluid pressure sensors and an upper limit value setter. The upper limit value setter sets an upper limit value of deceleration in such a manner that the upper limit value is set at a high level when the fluid pressure is high and at a low level when the fluid pressure is low, based on the fluid pressure sensed by the fluid pressure sensor associated with a wheel whose speed of rotation has been determined by the associated rotation sensor to be the highest of all the speeds of rotation of the wheels.
