  • Patent number: 10118555
Abstract: This invention provides a lamp-equipped vehicle outer mirror in which a phenomenon is less likely to occur, the phenomenon being the one in which light emitted from a lamp appears in a light emission pattern that is different from that intended by a designer. A side turn signal lamp is incorporated in a minor housing. A downward inclined surface is formed at a position above a lens of the side turn signal lamp in the mirror housing. The downward inclined surface is inclined obliquely downward and is lustrous. A part of turn signal lamp light emitted from the lens to an external field is reflected by the downward inclined surface. A relative positional relationship between the lens and the downward inclined surface is set so that the reflected light passes through an area on an upper side relative to a horizontal direction.

  • Publication number: 20090087636
Abstract: An absorbent sheet 10 including a fibrous material 11 and superabsorbent polymer particles 12. The superabsorbent polymer particles 12 are held by the fibrous material 11 and distributed in the thickness direction of the absorbent sheet 10. The superabsorbent polymer particles 12 are not substantially exposed on the surface of the absorbent sheet 10. The absorbent sheet 10 contains, around at least part of the superabsorbent polymer particles 12, voids 13 having size sufficient to accommodate a swell of the polymer particles 12 due to liquid absorption. The superabsorbent polymer particles 12 preferably have a particle size distribution in which 40% by weight or more of the particles have a particle size of 250 ?m or greater.

  • Patent number: 4153897
Abstract: In a pattern recognition device for recognizing an unknown pattern in accordance with the magnitude of the similarities between the unknown pattern and a plurality of standard patterns, the similarity between the unknown pattern and one of the standard patterns is detected as follows.Similarities are detected at first in respective shifting conditions where the unknown and standard patterns are relatively shifted from each other over the first limited extent, including the condition without the shift. The maximum value of these similarities is then detected. The similarities are further detected in respective shifting conditions where the unknown and standard patterns are relatively shifted from each other over the second extend larger than the first limited extent, when the shifting condition which gave the maximum value is that without relative shift.

  • Patent number: 4085237
Abstract: The continuously fed paper sheet is subjected to the successive steps of coating an acceptor composition at its one side, drying, calendering with a calender comprising a metal roll and an elastic roll having a Shore hardness within the range of 65 to 90, further coating a color former composition on the other side and further drying. The continuously fed paper sheet may be subjected to a cylinder ironing treatment between the first drying step and the calendering step.

  • Patent number: 4045773
Abstract: A pattern segmenting system for a pattern recognizing device, including a pattern memory for storing character information, means for reading out the character information from the pattern memory, means for detecting the start and end points of a subpattern in the character information and for calculating the center of the subpattern in accordance with the start and end points thereof, means for deciding whether or not the center thereof is within a selected character frame, and means for segmenting the subpattern when the center thereof is within the selected character frame and for regarding the frame as a blank when it is not within the selected character frame.

  • Patent number: 3942169
Abstract: A character pattern recognition system is disclosed in which an unknown input pattern of character and a standard pattern of character are described and maintained in the form of a sequence of Freeman direction codes. One-to-multiple and multiple-to-one correspondence is permitted between the codes, to obtain a specific correspondence between them in which the sum of the difference between direction codes is minimum, so that the minimum value of code difference is used as a measure of determining the similarity between the two patterns.
