  • Publication number: 20240310654
Abstract: Optimizing visual performance of a spectacle lens using metrics of visual performance includes selecting one or more metrics of visual performance for the lens. Creating functions of the metrics of visual performance, each having a function value that decreases as a values of the metrics of visual performance increase. Creating a merit function for lens optimization, the merit function having a main term that contains a weighted sum of functions that decrease as the metrics of visual performance increase, the weighted sum of functions including a set of viewing directions or a set of points with a one-to one correspondence with the set of viewing directions. Minimizing the merit function to optimize lens surfaces. Then designing an optimal lens having the optimized lens surfaces to optimize visual performance.

  • Patent number: 11198075
Abstract: The present technology relates to control systems for use with fluid treatment systems. In one embodiment, for example, a fluid treatment system includes a vessel configured to receive a fluid having one or more constituents and to separate one or more constituents from the fluid. The system can also include a tube extending along at least a portion of the vessel and a sensor. The tube can be in fluid communication with a pressurized air source, and the sensor can be configured to obtain a measurement of an operating parameter. The system can also include a controller in communication with the sensor and pressurized air source. The controller can execute one or more algorithms to determine a filter parameter based on the measurement of the operating parameter, compare the filter parameter to a threshold, and, based on the comparison, activate or deactivate the pressurized air source.

  • Patent number: 11027705
Abstract: The windscreen wiper device includes a wiper element and a least one carrier element. The wiper device also includes a connecting device, which includes a base and a joint part. The joint part has a top wall that extends in a lateral direction between a pair of side walls. The joint part also has a button configuration for lockingly attaching the connecting device with at least two different types of oscillating wiper arms. The button configuration includes first and second buttons, each of which is attached with the side walls via resilient strips. The resilient strips extend directly from the side walls to the buttons. The resilient strips bias the buttons into raised positions wherein the buttons project above the top walls. The resilient strips also allow the buttons to move to a pressed position wherein a top surface of the respective button is generally flush with the top wall.
