    Abstract: Improved techniques for adapting the look, feel, and/or behavior of a mobile application based on user attributes, location, and/or environment in which it is used are described herein. A triggering condition is determined to be satisfied between a hand-held device and a beacon. Based on the triggering condition being satisfied, one or more application settings are applied to an adaptive application, where these settings are associated with the beacon. Additionally, in response to fetching or acquiring an application skin that is associated with the beacon, the application skin is also applied to the adaptive application.

    Abstract: Embodiments are provided for securely messaging healthcare entities. In one scenario, a computer system receives an input from a user indicating that a message including text or other characters is to be securely transmitted to a specified healthcare entity. The message is part of a conversation between a user and the specified healthcare entity. The computer system encrypts the characters of the message using at least one encryption algorithm, so that the message is encrypted during the transfer from the user to the specified healthcare entity. The computer system then initiates transmission of the encrypted message such that the encrypted message is sent to the specified healthcare entity. Throughout the process, the encrypted message is transferred in accordance with legal regulations governing healthcare communications.

    Abstract: Method for tracking a user's gaze within a virtual-reality environment comprises generating a user coordinate system within a virtual space. The user coordinate system is associated with a virtual sphere surrounding a location of a camera within the virtual space. The method also includes generating a hotspot within the virtual space. The hotspot comprises a hotspot coordinate associated with a virtual object and a pre-defined threshold of space surrounding the virtual object. Additionally, the method includes accessing view information, received from one or more sensors integrated within an end user virtual-reality hardware device. The view information relates to the direction of the user's gaze within the real-world. Further, the method includes mapping the view information to the user coordinate system. Further still, the method includes determining, based upon the mapping, whether the user's gaze intersected with the hotspot.

    Abstract: A computer system is provided which determines that a mobile device associated with an identified customer is within a seller's store. The computer system further receives transaction information from a mobile wallet application associated with the customer which includes an indication of items that are to be purchased, an indication of the amount that is to be paid, and an indication that payment is to be made from a stored value account (SVA) associated with the customer. The computer system determines, based on the customer's identity, current location, and the received transaction information, that the customer has approved the transaction, processes the transaction using the customer's SVA, provides a credit to the seller in the amount debited from the customer's SVA and generates an electronic receipt for the customer, notifying the customer that the seller has received the specified amount of money from the customer's SVA.

The computer system then receives payment data from the authenticated user, where the payment data includes a tokenized QR code that contains an indication of the media items being purchased and embedded account information for both the provider of the selected media items and the user. The computer system also processes a payment transaction based on the indication of media items being purchased and the embedded account information in the tokenized QR code and, upon determining that the authenticated user has paid for a media item, transmits the purchased media item to the user.
