    Abstract: A film winding unit is removably attached to a film unit so as to engage a coupling gear with a film winding wheel. The coupling gear is connectable to a gear train through a clutch member. While the film winding wheel of the film unit is unlocked, the clutch member is placed in a power transmitting position for transmitting rotational movement of a motor to the coupling gear through the gear train. Upon the film winding mechanism being locked, a large load is applied to the clutch member, so that the clutch member slips into a disconnecting position to disconnect the motor from the coupling gear. In cooperation with the movement of the clutch member into the disconnecting position, a motor inactivating device inactivates the motor. After a release button of a film winding unit is depressed to depress a shutter button of the film unit, a motor activating device activates the motor in cooperation with returning movement of the release button.

    Abstract: A photographic film carrier holds a photographic film firm and flat to place picture frames of the photographic film at a position of a photographic apparatus where each picture frame is projected for exposure or inspection. The film carrier is formed with a framing mask opening for holding a picture frame of the photographic film firm and flat in the framing mask opening and is provided with motor driven film transporting rollers for transporting the photographic film. A marking device is disposed downstream of the framing mask opening for forming, in one side margin of the photographic film, a perforation as a cut-mark along which the photographic film is to be cut transversely. A detector is mounted on the film carrier for detecting a transported length of the photographic film including a predetermined number of picture frames. The marking device is actuated by a controller to form a cut-mark when the detector detects a predetermined length of the photographic film.

    Abstract: A boundary display device is used in a photographic printer performing so-called division-printing by which partial prints are produced from an image frame of a negative film to construct a composite greatly-enlarged print. The boundary display device comprises a transparent plate and lines which represent the boundaries of areas into which a scene of a film frame is nominally divided. The transparent plate is placed in an opening of a film carrier of the printer so as to view how the scene is divided prior to the division-printing. Based on the viewing, the position of the film in the opening is moved slightly if necessary.

    Abstract: A photographic processing apparatus having a plurality of processing tanks and a guide rack structure detachably mounted thereon for guiding a long strip of photographic material passing through the tanks. The guide rack structure has a pair of guide members removably installed into each of the tanks, and each pair is movable to define the width of guide passage therebetween and thus guide lengthwise edges of the long strip passing through the tank. Width adjusting mechanisms are provided, one for each pair of guide members, for adjusting the width of guide passage so that it is equal to the width of the long strip of photographic material. A drive mechanism is coupled to all the pairs of guide members to drive the width adjusting mechanisms and thus effect width adjustment. A power transmission is provided between the drive mechanism and each width adjusting means for connecting and disconnecting the transmission of drive power from the drive mechanism to the width adjusting means.

    Abstract: A photographic printer makes enlarged elemental prints of portions, into which a single image frame of an original film is divided, and used to make a large size picture display. There are provided a film holder, movable in two dimensions; a position index panel with a plurality of possible positions corresponding to the portion for positioning the film holder to align the center of each portion with the printing axis of the photographic printer; a position indicating panel with a plurality of position indicating light emitting elements for selectively indicating a position where the film holder is to be placed; and an indicating member which is movable over the position indicating panel. The light emitting elements indicate the corresponding possible positions of the positioning panel. When aligning the indicating member with a light emitting element which is now emitting light, the film holder is placed in position so as to print a portion of the image frame to be printed into the printing position.

    Abstract: A photographic paper handling apparatus for handling a photographic paper in a continuous form having a plurality of images sequentially printed thereon in the longitudinal direction thereof is provided with a cutting-perforating section and a folding section. In the cutting-perforating section, the photographic paper which is transported along a photographic paper transport passage is cut into pieces each including a series of images printed in accordance with the order placed by each individual customer, and a perforation is provided in an area of each of the cut pieces of photographic paper which is defined between each pair of adjacent images. In the folding section, each of the cut and perforated pieces of photographic paper is folded along each perforation. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent prints processed in accordance with one order from being mixed with those in accordance with another order.

    Abstract: A cassette which retains a plurality of stacked resin sheets is loaded on a retaining member of a driving device. A plurality of press-heating stations and a number of cooling stations which is smaller than the number of press-heating stations are disposed around the driving device, and the retaining member is sequentially sent to each of the stations by means of the driving device. In each press-heating station, each of the resin sheets in the cassette retained by the retaining member is thermowelded, and the press-heated resin sheets are cooled in the cooling station. The cassette comprises a cassette body for accommodating a plurality of stacked resin sheets, and a pressing plate brought into contact with the stacked resin sheets so as to press them by means of a resilient member such as a coned disk spring. Thus, the resin sheets are moved from one press-heating station to another while being maintained in a pressed state.
