  • Publication number: 20050188030
Abstract: An email agent includes special folders enabling a busy executive to speed up forwarding of email messages, delegate their processing and obtain notification of the message processing. An Auto-Forwarding folder comprising various recipient choices automatically forwards selected message to desired recipients (or to a list of recipients). Optionally a predefined note may be tacked to the received, forwarded message. Alternative subfolders to identical recipients are made available, facilitating different treatments for emails forwarded to the same target. Automatic delegating functions are provided to inform the original sender of the status of a forwarded message. A special code inserted in the header of a return message from a delegate will inform the delegator's system that the return message is a copy of a reply to a previously delegated message, and the return message can be stored either in a standard InBox or a special InBox for copies of replies to delegated messages.

  • Patent number: 6675001
Abstract: A graphical tuning system for computer-controlled radio equipment, where a two-dimensional tuning field is displayed with one axis representing frequency and the other axis representing tuning resolution. The user tunes the equipment by moving a pointer in this two-dimensional field. A spectrum display may be superimposed as a third dimension on a two-dimensional tuning field with one axis representing the frequency, the second axis representing tuning resolution and the third axis representing the signal level. The preferred tuning relationship is described by the generalized equation: f2=f1+(x2−x1)*FR(y2−y1), where f1 is the old frequency, and f2 is the new frequency, where x1, y1 are the new co-ordinates of the mouse, x2, y2 are the old co-ordinates of the mouse, and FR is a function describing a relationship between the position of the mouse and the frequency resolution.

  • Patent number: 6289207
Abstract: A radio receiver comprises an RF tuner (10) on a computer card (11) having a frequency selector (19) for determining the current selected frequency. A programmed computer functions as a control system 100 controlling the tuner and a display screen 200 presents data and user selectable inputs to the user. An input peripheral device (101) enables the user to input data or information and commands to the control system. The control system causes a display (220) display on the display screen (200) in real time both digital and analogue indications of the current frequency being passed by the tuner (10); and provides a tuner frequency select control responsive to input of a frequency change command by the user to change the current selected frequency.

  • Patent number: 6174840
Abstract: Use in inhibiting plant growth of a compound of formula II in which either the pair of symbols X and Y or the pair of symbols Y and Z, together with the carbon atoms to which they are attached, form a non-aromatic ring system having either 5 or 7 ring atoms, all of which are carbon except that one may be oxygen, and which is substituted or unsubstituted, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkenyl or a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group and R2 represents a hydrogen atom and R3 an alkyl carboxyalkyl group or R2 and R3 together form a double bond, and thereafter any unsatisfied valencies of ring carbon atoms of the ring shown in formula II are satisfied by hydrogen atoms.

  • Patent number: 5453012
Abstract: A Braille display for denoting characters by the positions of six or eight movable projections or pins (10, 11, 12) arranged in two parallel columns. Each projection is movable between an elevated position and a lowered position by a rotary cam actuator (30) so that different rotary positions of the cam members (31) cause the projections to adopt different predetermined permutations of the elevated and lowered positions of the projections corresponding to respective characters to be denoted by the Braille display. There is one cam member (31) for each column of projections. Drive elements in the form of stepping motors (35) selectively rotate the cam members (31) between their different rotary positions. Each pin (10, 11, 12) preferentially adopts its lowered position, e.g. by action of biasing springs (20, 21, 22).
