  • Publication number: 20240089176
Abstract: A multi-function device (MFD) is disclosed. For example, the MFD includes a user interface to select a network configuration machine readable code, a processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a plurality of instructions. The instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to generate the network configuration machine readable code and print the network configuration machine readable code, wherein the network configuration machine readable code is to be scanned by a target MFD to automatically configure a network connection of the target MFD via information contained in the network configuration machine readable code.

  • Patent number: 11856172
Abstract: A multi-function device (MFD) is disclosed. For example, the MFD includes a communication interface to establish a communication path with a remote server, a user interface to receive a request to create an electronic file based on a scan of a document, a processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a plurality of instructions. The instructions when executed by the processor cause the processor to scan the document to create the electronic file of the document, generate an encryption code associated with the electronic file of the document that is scanned, and transmit the electronic file to the remote server.

  • Patent number: 11616894
Abstract: A multi-function device (MFD) is disclosed. For example, the MFD includes a communication interface to establish a communication path with an authentication server, a user interface to receive document control information for a document to be generated, a processor, and a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing a plurality of instructions. The instructions when executed by the processor cause the processor to generate a machine readable code that contains the document control information for the document and print the machine readable code onto the document that is printed by the MFD.

  • Patent number: 10868930
Abstract: A method provides for language selection on a shared local user interface, such as an interface for operating a printer that is used by multiple users having a variety of first languages. The method includes providing at least one mechanism on a shared local user interface for selection of one of an original set of languages for text to be displayed on the local user interface. One mechanism may include displaying text in each of the languages contemporaneously or sequentially. At a plurality of times, a respective user's selection of one of the original set of languages is received. Based on a plurality of user selections, a modified set of languages can be learned which is then used in place of the original set of languages when providing the at least one language selection mechanism at a subsequent time.

  • Patent number: 10367957
Abstract: A method of providing native scalable management of a fleet of managed devices, which includes establishing a Trust Community, which includes a sub-set of the managed devices, organizing the Trust Community, configuring one of the managed devices in the organized Trust Community as a Root Device to publish files via a file sharing function, adding the Root Device to a distribution profile stored in a database, creating or downloading files via the Root Device, and sharing the files with other devices in the organized Trust Community via the Root Device. Any devices on hold or offline are placed in a temporary working area for reorganizing. Download and install schedules are set up on a per device or a bulk basis according to policies. Files are placed into a staging area before re-distribution and checked for security, integrity, and/or completeness via checksums, digitally signed certificates, and/or internal structure checks.

  • Patent number: 7148824
Abstract: A method of detecting the encoding utilized in an electronic document includes testing the text strings to determine whether the electronic document contains only text strings having legal numeric codes. A statistical analysis of the text strings is then conducted to provide a mapping of legally coded candidates. The legally coded candidates are ranked and combined with an expected ranking of legally coded candidates to provide a most probable character mapping.
