  • Patent number: 9071707
Abstract: Device and methods for acquiring by a host device model information (model ID) of a device assigned in a new range are provided herein. In many embodiments, the device includes a model information storage unit that stores model information from either a first range or a second range outside the first range and a communication unit that communicates with a device that requests model information, receives a model information request, and in response returns the model information if within the first range and returns specific information if the model information is outside the first range. After the specific information is sent, a new request is sent from the host device after which the communication unit provides the model information within the second range, often in a different format from the specific information.

  • Patent number: 8559046
Abstract: An imaging device receives from a host device image data and commands including a normal command, an image data command associated with a parameter indicative of a data length of the image data to be processed, and a real-time command to be processed prior to the normal command. The imaging device comprises a receiver configured to receive the image data command and subsequently the parameter from the host device; and a processor configured to process the parameter without processing the real-time command, even if a data sequence identical to a byte stream of the real-time command is included in the image data, after processing the image data command.

  • Patent number: 8390835
Abstract: An imaging device receives from a host image data and commands including a normal command and a real-time command to be processed prior to the normal command. A receiver receives a real-time processing disable command, and a processor processes the image data without processing the real-time command, even if a data sequence identical to the byte stream of the real-time command is included in the image data, after processing the real-time processing disable command. In a method for so controlling an imaging device, a real-time processing disable command is received from the host, after which the real-time processing disable command is processed, after which the image data is processed without processing the real-time command, even if a data sequence identical to the byte stream of the real-time command is included in the image data.

  • Patent number: 8345274
Abstract: An imaging device receives from a host image data and commands including a normal command and a real-time command to be processed prior to the normal command. A receiver receives a real-time processing disable command with a parameter indicating a number of bytes of the image data, and a processor processes the image data in terms of the number of bytes without processing the real-time command, after processing the real-time processing disable command. In a method for so controlling an imaging device, the host controls transmission of image data and commands including normal and real-time commands to an imaging device as noted above. The host comprises a detector that determines if data to be transmitted includes image data, and a processor that transmits the image data after transmitting a real-time processing disable command with the parameter described above, if the detector determines that the data includes the image data.

  • Patent number: 7826075
Abstract: A host device to control transmission of bit-map data and/or one or more real-time commands to an imaging device controls processing of a data stream including the bit-map data. In one aspect, if a detector of the host determines that a data stream to be transmitted includes bit-map data, then a processor of the host sends a real-time processing disable command; and then sends the data stream including the bit-map data. In another aspect, if a detector of the host determines that real-time command receipt by the imaging device is disabled, then a processor of the host transmits a data stream including bit-map data, followed by the transmission of a real-time processing enable command, and then the transmission of a real-time command. An imaging device and controlling its receipt and processing of data are also provided.

  • Patent number: 7324222
Abstract: Methods of controlling an information processing device in the sending of commands to a printer for control thereof, methods of controlling transmission of bit-map data, and systems embodying data and command flow control distinguish between true and false real-time commands. In one aspect, it is determined if a data stream to be transmitted includes bit-map data. If so, then a real-time processing disable command is sent; and then the data stream including the bit-map data is sent. In another aspect, if the status of real-time command receipt is disabled, then a data stream including bit-map data is transmitted, followed by the transmission of a real-time processing enable command, and then the transmission of a real-time command.

  • Publication number: 20070085872
Abstract: A voltage monitor 21 monitors the power supply voltage V0 of the printer 1, and writes to the low voltage error log when the time t0 passed after the power supply voltage V0 drops to or below a threshold voltage V1 reaches a first time t1. If the voltage drops to a logic circuit reset voltage V2 before the elapsed time t0 reaches the first time t1, the low voltage error log is not recorded.

  • Patent number: 7120812
Abstract: A power supply control apparatus for reducing the frequency of running a specific process in an electronic device when the device power turns on or off too soon after being turned off by monitoring the operating state of the power switch. When the power supply control apparatus detects an operation turning the power to the hybrid processing apparatus 1 off, the power supply control apparatus continues supplying power for as long as needed to complete a given shutdown process. However, if the power supply control apparatus 50 detects an operation turning the device power on again after the power supply stops but before reaching a predetermined reset voltage a reset and restart command is applied to the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 6975423
Abstract: A printing apparatus includes a data receiver that receives command data from a host device and a memory that stores the command data received by the data receiver. A printer controller reads out the command data stored in the memory in a first-in-first-out order and controls the printing apparatus in accordance with the command data. A command detector is provided to detect predetermined command data within the command data received by the data receiver without storing the command data in the memory or while or before command data is stored in the memory. An off-line recovery controller enables the printing apparatus to recover from an off-line state in accordance with the predetermined command data detected by the command detector.
