  • Publication number: 20170163887
Abstract: An in-image capturing unit captures an image of a subject in a direction facing a front surface of an image processing apparatus, as an in-image, and an out-image capturing unit captures an image of a subject in a direction facing a back surface of the image processing apparatus, as an out-image. A signal processing unit obtains a binary image as additional information, the binary image being obtained by binarizing the in-image, for example, and adds the additional information to image data of the out-image. Additionally, the signal processing unit combines the binary image serving as the additional information with the out-image when the out-image is reproduced, and displays the resultant image. In such a manner, information obtained from the in-image is added to the out-image as additional information, and thus it is possible to more effectively display an image and improve convenience.

  • Publication number: 20160277677
Abstract: The present technology relates to an image processing device and method, and program, whereby a high-quality loop moving image can be obtained more easily. Upon continuous shot images of multiple frames serving as material of a loop moving image being input, the continuous shot images are divided into multiple segments including motion segments including a moving subject and a still segment including a subject with no motion. An image of the motion segment region of the continuous shot images is formed into a loop moving image, and a segment loop moving image is generated. Also, an image of a still segment region of the continuous shot images is clipped out, and a segment image which is a still image is generated. According to the image processing apparatus, homogeneous transformation matrixes H?s,s+1 between adjacent captured images are acquired under a more generous condition, and homogeneous transformation matrixes H?s,s+1 between the adjacent captured images are acquired under a more strict condition, for N captured images which are successively captured. Furthermore, the homogeneous transformation matrixes H?s,s+1 and the homogeneous transformation matrixes H?s,s+1 are accumulated to acquire a homogeneous transformation matrix H?1,s between first and s-th captured images, and the homogeneous transformation matrixes H?s,s+1 are accumulated to acquire a homogeneous transformation matrix H?1,s between the first and the s-th captured images.

  • Publication number: 20140313224
Abstract: The present technique relates to an image processing device, an image processing method, and a program for obtaining a high-quality panoramic image when a 360-degree panoramic image is generated. A projected image generation unit generates projected images by mapping, on a cylindrical surface, captured images taken by a camera being rotated 360 degrees. A cumulative difference value calculation unit calculates a cumulative difference value in each position between the adjacent projected images. Based on the projected images and the cumulative difference values, a diagraph generation unit generates a diagraph reflecting the cumulative difference values in the energies of edges. Based on the diagraph, the path search unit searches for such projected image joining positions as to minimize defects when a panoramic image is generated by joining the respective projected images. A panoramic image generation unit joins the projected images based on a result of the search, and generates a panoramic image.

  • Publication number: 20140313284
Abstract: This technology relates to an image processing apparatus, a method thereof, and a program making it possible to cut out an area in a desired direction of a panoramic image more easily and rapidly. When the image processing apparatus cuts out an area in a predetermined eye direction of a panoramic image projected on a spherical surface to display, this displays an area of the panoramic image projected on a virtual screen determined by a specified eye direction as an output image. That is, the image processing apparatus calculates a pixel position of the panoramic image projected on a position on the screen by an approximation function to generate the output image. At that time, the image processing apparatus evaluates an approximation error by the approximation function.

  • Patent number: 8830350
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for efficiently executing correction of false color, such as purple fringe, caused by chromatic aberration and for generating and outputting high-quality image data are provided. A white-saturated pixel is detected from image data, a false-color-pixel detection area is set around the detected white-saturated pixel, and pixels having color corresponding to false color such as purple fringe are detected from the set area. The detected pixels are determined as false-color pixels and correction processing based on the values of the surrounding pixels is performed on the determined false-color pixels. With this configuration, an area of false color such as purple fringe generated in the neighborhood of a white-saturated pixel can be efficiently detected, pixel values can be partially corrected, and high-quality image data can be generated and output without affecting the entire image.
