    Abstract: In a spindle motor, in an upper portion of a stator bearing surrounding wall 32a of a bearing housing 32, a flange 32c projecting outward in the radial direction from the stator bearing surrounding wall 32a is provided, and a tapered face 32e obtained in such a manner that the outer diameter of the bearing housing 32 gradually decreases downward from the flange 32c is formed in the outer face of the stator bearing surrounding wall 32a. A rotor 2 has a yoke 23 facing the bearing housing 32 in the radial direction and the air-fluid boundary is formed in a fifth clearance 40 between the tapered face 32e and the inner face of the yoke 23. By the yoke 23 and the flange 32c which are fit to each other in a non-contact state, a detachment preventing structure is constructed.
